does anyone know where i can get this replaced ? in edmonton … not in calgary, if i was in calgary i would go to autodream but im not and driving all the way there the way the engine is scary …anyhow any input would do thanks
Its probably easier to find another good engine and swap that in. What is wrong with the car exactly???
Did one break??? Or do they just need adjusting.
they have a self adjusting hydraulic lash adjuster but sometimes they need to be re-shimmed.
well honestly i dont know, it sounds like there is something loose in top of the engine i searched the net on the kat.org site for the engine and someone had a similar problems and fix the rockers and fixed the problem, so i need a diagnostic on the engine but dont know where to take it to.
WELL FOR 1 90% chance it could be ur timing chain ratteling cuz ur guide is busted or tensioner is lacking pressure. Than u loking at chain job or another motor.Timing chain noises are timing cover related so u will hear /feel vibes on the cover itself.
2 rockers ussally would be tick tick tick type of sound (loud as injector ticking), best bet is too pour some atf tranny fluid rev it up few times than let idle for 5-10 minutes withur current oil , than after idle rev it up few times again and change oil. That will clean up any plague inside ur oil passages that can cause low pressure. If u still hear tik tik tik afterwards than u either have a collapsed lifter or broken/worn to shiet shim even worn down rocker itself/
Chek ur oil 1st of all should be no less than 4L and no more than 4.1- 4.2 L .
