I confiscated two cell phones from students yesterday. One rang during class twice (I usually give a warning first time, sometimes you forget to turn it off) and the other kid was texting a friend instead of doing his work. Both were distractions that were damaging the educational environment and neither was a friggin emergency. The school was not shot up, no ones granpappy died.
Honestly, I don’t care if they have phones, as long as they don’t become a distraction in class. Then I care.
Thats how it should be. Where do you teach?
