Kitchen Remodel.....Completed!! Finally

 That’s respectable.

A lot of older houses used galvanized steel piping. The problem is that the inside will wear the galv. coating off over time and lead to rusting. Today you can still buy steel P-traps, Drains, and fittings.

holy fuck 1000$ Lol?

Ill do it for u for 500 lol
Running copper is really easy, soldering is fairly easy as well.

Post pictures!!

this is what it currently looks like im doing the countertop and cabinet right now

its only the first coat of joint compound it still has to dry so i switch over to moving the cabinet over
and test fitting the countertop.

Total renovation cost $1200 for everything.

Who installed the cabinets?

I reused the upper wall cabinet because we have intention of redoing all the cabinet down the line so I did wanna spend a ton of money on the.

I know the cabinets aren’t perfect but they were in the budget lol.
I installed them.

Why does the countertop hang over about 4"? Looks funny.

Could have cut it back or brought the cabinets down and used a filler piece.

What did the before kitchen look like?

When I moved in I did a similar cheap update.
Replaced my counter with a $99 laminate, my floors with sheet vinyl, new sink etc…
Then painted my old terrible built in cabinets white.

I have a Pex story…
Saturday, my wifes aunt called me because she had a leak in the hot water line to a bath tub. The plumber quoted her $9k to replace all of the plumbing in the entire house.
because the former owner was apparently a DIY challenged. He knew just enough to make it work, but not even close to enough to make it right. ex. inside the breaker panel there is absolutley no room to reach a hand in and work. it is completely filled with excess wire.
The problem was a crack in a $3 Pex -> NPT fitting. 15 minutes to go buy a new one and replace it. She would not pay my $1000 bill though.

MUCH BETTER

Are you married to an old lady? WTF decorating.

Looking good dude!

def. looks a little better

LOL I had the same thought.

the old existing countertop went out that far so what i did was just measured the existing counter top i believed there was a old spice rack that was there when we moved in and we took it out because when we open the fridge the cats couldnt get through…and my wife loves cats and treats them like babies…so she told me to take it off so the cars can move around the fridge door when i have that open. lol

lol maybe.

there is some before picture of it on the previous page

You really removed a storage fixture from your kitchen so as not to, for a few seconds, inconvenience your cats?!?!

that how we do newman.

heh…
The green really made those tiles pop…
Are they “star dust”?

So did you ever put in a new header to make up for removing the 2x4’s? Any pictures of that during the process?
