this S12 is very nice, but I’ll admit that I’m a hater when it comes to people boasting that they’re the ONLY/FIRST to do something, cause well I’m a firm believer that there’s no such thing as an original thought–this belief led to quite a few, discusions in high school english classes.
Funny thing is tim told me like three years ago when he worked at ct in guelph that he got it of a freind of his for 700 dollars due to the engine being in peices. Hence it sat in a garage fgor almost five years before he bought it.
funny thing is i saw the car on saturday
very mint exterior
The erb kit is nice but the sr into a s12 has been around for quite some times now.
He isn’t the first in ontario as the first is someone else who did this swap.
He went as far as rewiring the whole car with a 240 harness(electrical and sr engine harness)
Yeah, that is the only one I know of in Ontario with an SR. Come to think of it, I don’t know any others in Canada. There’s a few ca18dets though.
He’s also the only member we have that actually has the Erebuni kit. Was discontinued a long time ago.
It’s a nice car. Pretty sure his ricer friend is making all these posts about his car, not him. He’s pretty modest about it. He bought it already installed, just mot running.
But as for “in the world” there’s still lots of SR powered 12s.
The swaps are less common because the cars came with a turbo motor from the factory. A lot of owners are happy to throw a $10 MBC and a junkyard intercooler at the car, and be happy with 200hp.
People have wrung close to 400 hp out of the SOHC ca18et too, so S12 owners don’t really swap at abandon. We probably have more KA and KA-t swaps than SR.
But there’s tons of Gazelles (S12 in Australia) with SR swaps. Australia didn’t get the turbo S12 at all.
The cars get undriveable with too much power. It’s smaller and lighter than a 240 … 200 hp seems to be the magic mark. Enough to crack the 13s, and still be fun to drive.
Yeah matt the guy i am talking about is’t on the s12 forums. But still in the GTa LOL
The owner of the s12 with the kit is a great guy. He doesn’t brag on what he has
the little asshole inside me may have gotten the better of me, but it made for an interesting, uhm, discussion, in between parts (at work) last night. I do like the car, very refreshing.
There is a guy around the block from me who owns a black S12 and he’s had it since new and I asked him about 5 years ago before I got my 240 if he wants to sell it and he said no, I also asked him again last year if he changed his mind and wants to sell it and he still said no. He never winter drives it and he has never done any mods to it the car is bone stock and he services it regularly at Nissan. The car is mint and all original with zero mods and the guy is like 45 years old and I never seen him push it. I love his car and I want to buy it the minute he sells it but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon every time I talk to him I don’t even get to say hello he sais “No, it’s not for sale” right away. i think Im going to have to steal it  from him  . I still prefer a S13 over S12 but I wouldn’t mind owning a clean S12 like his for the right price. … Oh by the way it doesn’t mean if I bought it I would sell my 240sx no,no,no. My cars are for life baby. I still have my first car from the time I was 16. I figure I might as well start a collection of cars my dream is to own as many cars as possible and have a different toy all the time, thats why I idolize Jay Leno he has a collection of all his favorite cars.
^^^ I didn’t know I was getting marked on my grammar skills today . … Oh for the eyesight! If your having a hard time reading that then I can refer you to someone that can help you out.
