They seem to love starting off with wiping peoples goddamn drives. Pisses me off because it’s often a blatant hardware issue, as this was. I try to spare peoples data, always. We have our own standardized image that has been proven good hundreds of times over, yet several times the “genius” has blamed our image for hardware faults.
Given the sample size I’ve dealt with I was pretty confident without even looking physically. $500 isn’t a horrible price though I’d sell it for parts on ebay and keep the new one. You’ll love the new one I’m sure.
@TradersBASE what should i list it for on ebay?
2008 15" MBP
2.4 gHZ intel core 2 duo
4gb ram
If you lookup the serial number on apple’s site, you can get the detailed model (Late 2008) or whatever it happens to be. Put exactly what’s wrong with it and also list the Hard Drive specs, unless you’re pulling the drive pre-sale.
Good choice
LMAO. Just now someone was telling me last night Apple blamed the hard drive dying on our software image. They said the reason we’ve had so many hardware problems here with their laptops “for the last 7 years” was because of our “clone”. Does anyone know a “Genius” at the Galleria, I’d like to go discuss this with them…srsly. They are spreading bullshit stories about something way over their head it seems.
pffffft. But…but…they are geniuses.
Sometimes there refurbs are not great deals but about 3 months ago I got a nice deal on a 2012 27" iMac refurb. There laptops are not expensive at all if you compare them to equivalent class machines. Go look at Lenovo Thinkpads for reference. Just because you can by some 300-600 dollar shittop doesn’t mean you should.
Just got a new 15 inch pro for work i7 16gb 512ssd
pick mine up tomorrow… finally.
Nice rig aye? Wife and I got the fully loaded 15" 1tb ssd, 2.6ghz i7, 16gb of ram. Can’t believe how fast it is. Just got finished setting it up. Not disappointed at all. She’s a designer and is trying to go 100% freelance.
I’m having some first world issues over here my desk isn’t big enough for my 13mbp, 15mbp, and Dell E6330
awwww poor @LZ
LOL @ pic, I could probably take a similar one, but my graveyard probably has much older hardware lol
similar
Wall mount the LCD’s or go with a dual vertical VESA stand. Problem solved.
Not bad on the desk space… I wish my desk had more…
Panaorama…
Get rid of the fake flowers & fancy lamp and you’ll have room for another LCD? J/K, the room looks great/tasteful. I dig the window bench.
Thats all my wife there, I can actually pretty easily fit a third 27" display there
