If it was said to be a running motor Id assume it was ready to drop in and go, just like buying a motor from a junkyard.

When I bought a used motor for one of my old trucks I was told it ran and didnt bother to take it apart to see if it was all good. If I was going to go thru that trouble I wouldve fixed the bad motor in the first place.

And what I’m saying is you can’t take any bodies word anymore. If I actually saw it running, sure no question but if it’s sitting on the floor of some guys garage I have to assume its going to take some tinkering with to get running.
