…Indeed, Buffalo police report an increase in inspection sticker thefts. The reason is simple. Last year, New York State required auto mechanics who issue the stickers to comply with new, computerized standards…
^ Well, the one car had it’s windshield smashed. I imagine if you smash the window and take the part with the sticker home it probably isn’t too hard to remove the cubed glass.
its called a torch. the funny thing about glue is when you heat it up it lets go! but when they removed it from my windown it destroyed my old window (burn marks).
Removing a sticker without damage is easy. I removed my old inspection and registration stickers with just a razor and Goo Be Gone and they were still in good enough condition to be re-used.
It would be nice if wkbw actually checked their facts. On the report it said you could get a replacement from deputy county clerk for $2.00. I almost fell over laughing. Oh yeah its the media’s job to sell advertising not tell the news, i almost forgot. Replacement can only come from albany with a moutain of paper work and about 3 weeks of time. Its ususally easier to just get the car re-inspected
Why not build a fire pit on your windshield and then wait for the glass to melt off of the sitcker. That way the sticker will be intact…
A $9.99 heat gun from Harbor will do the job (Works on badges, bumper stickers, registrations, tint, 3M dbl sided tape, etc… but don’t use it for a long time).
