What could It be? When I park somewhere I leave small spots that distinctly smell like gas and my fuel milage sucks! I drive about 20 kms a day and I filled up yesterday and already have less then 3/4s left!
It seems to be leaking just infront of the rear tires, could it be the resevoir? I know little to nothing about cars and I like knowing what it is.
If it is the gas tank, where could I fix it and how much would it run me? Gas lines were replaced in Oct 05. What could it beeee. This is rediculous on my wallet.
well nor i or anybody else could tell u where its leaking from. Get underneath the car and find out if its a line, if its not a line then its the tank and u need a new tank…
Had gas leaks before as well. I had to replace my gas lines. Lucky i had a parts car with perfect lines on it.
Nissan will charge you up the ass. Could cost like 1000$+. I asked them about the gas lines and they were like, oh dude, it’s gonna cost you around 1000$ cause we have to change the gas tank as well and it takes long to replace all this.
I’d say it’s most likely your lines and like someone said, the seam on your gas tank or filler neck.
this happens to almost every 240 if rust proofing wasint dones thoughout its life…
if u have replaced the gas lines was it the hard lines or the rubber hoses from the tank to the hard line…
chances are the hard line rusted and has a few pine holes… ive had to fix this on 3 240’s i just cut the hard line with a pipe cutter clean it up nice and re connect it with the rubber hose… if its sumwhere random and there isint the rubber hose near by to attach it back on…
then cut out the section thats leaking and place a piece of gas hose there and clamp it up… it will never leak again… it that section of course.
