I am going to LA tonight until the 16th with a close friend of mine. We will be staying in a hotel right on Rodeo Drive. Any suggestions on shit to do, any experiences you want to pass on? Things to avoid? Thanks. Also, we are both 19 so rental car is out of the question. Lots of walking and $$$$$$$ on taxi’s.

but my favorite part of LA was the ocean. go to the beach where that pier is with the roller coaster… it’s really wonderful down there- especially at dusk.

Umm, I think i will take Jannys advice and 1. Avoid breathing, and 2. Check out the beach with the pier and the roller coaster. Ohh, a sunset at the beach, how romantic. and oops! look at that, only got one king bed in the room…

if you plan on doing universal studios, spend the extra cash for the vip pass…if you have to wait in the regular lines you’ll spend the whole day there and get on like 5 things tops…with that fast pass, i remember getting off a ride and hopping right back on, and while it is a very child safe/friendly park, some of the rides are pretty cool…the mummy roller coaster was tits…
also, there’s an outdoor mall/food court area within like 10 yards of universal studios park entrance, called City Walk, it’s pretty tits as well…i’d highly recommend while in City Walk, you eat at the chinese rest. City Wok…very good stuff…there’s also a hard rock cafe there…
another thing i did when there, as touristy and corny as it may seem, is i took one of the mini bus tours of the homes of the starts, pretty impressive…was cool to see that michael jackson, elton john, and the menendez brothers all lived in the same house at different times lol…
it was only a year ago but i dont remember most of it…i’ll check when i get home and let you know if i think of any other cool shit we did…

Lol, I don’t think I will make it to Pomona, but thanks a ton for the heads up already. I really really am not a big fan of theme parks, and we already decided if we DO go to Disney, shes buying my ticket, haha. If that happens, I will be sure to do what you suggested. Venice beach is nice and close by, and I will be there a couple times, no question. Not that I have anyhting to show off, but still.
I think we will do some touristy stuff (ie: bus tour of the stars houses) for one good day. I am going completely for broke on this one though

We really enjoyed Santa Monica.
I managed to swing a rental car… All I could find was a Suzuki. I took it up to 100 easy on the 110.
There was the highest concentration of HOT and EXPENSIVE cars I have ever experienced. I would say 1 in 20 was an infinity g35 or a Porsche Cayenne. Hell, 1 in 10 was a porsche or ferrari.
