Legalizing Honda 50

Seems like a big waste for a 50. I have a 50 with a 110 and I wouldn’t want to take that in traffic. Even if you do waste your time with it any cop who sees you is going to hastle you guaranteed

Have you seen my projects? It would be a z50 with a piranna 155cc engine swapped into it…

And it’ll still be a pit bike

Yes a street legal pit bike.

fill it out, mail it in.

Still trying to understand why you would want to ride a pit bike in traffic…

I would like to paint mat h this to one of my wagons and store it in the rear. Like that rare jdm honda that came with a moped from factory instead of a spare tire

that moped is so awesome, I know exactly what your talking about. I did not know it was to replace a spare tho

For insight. Its not your typical size standard honda 50 dirtbike I have. Its a 50cc monkey bike, they came street titled but I just dont have the paper work for it.

Oh if that’s the case does it go over 40mph? If not just fill out the 51 or 51b, I forget which one exactly. Say you’ve had it for over a year, fill out a tax form, get a vin tracing or photo, and ride away onto the sunset with your reg.

Iv done that for past ATV’s but never anything street legal. Technically its a 50cc bike, but its more of a sleeper with 140cc swapped and yes it will do over 40mph.

Did it do over 40 from the factory and do you mind registering it as a limited use? Lol that’s probably the easiest course of action to get it registered in ny quick.

The atv does 65 factory. It was registered as an off road vehicle only. I’d like to get a normal MC plate for it.

I’ve been following this thread since the start. All I can say is, I want one. I built a pit-bike 6 or so years ago, and loved it. Just had a lot of quality issues at the time. My plan was to make a streetable one. Only back then, you couldn’t get one with a title. They only came with a Certificate Of Origin. I actually am still thinking about buying a DOT Pitster Pro or something like it. I had bought a 138cc Lifan to put in mine. At the time, it was a pretty big motor. Torque everywhere. I could lift a wheelie in top gear (4th). Thing was a blast. I just got sick of following an electrical problem at the time. Now that I see these Honda Z50 mopeds. I’d totally dive back into one. My current commute is 5-6 miles of city commuting. 10 minutes in a car, max. I’d totally rock one of these. I know from my pit-bike. It was all about being gearing limited. I could rip to topspeed (45mph) in no time. Use to race a small back yard figure 8 track, all in 3rd gear. I always figured my old bike had enough HP for approximately 60mph before wind drag would stop it. Anyways, keep us updated on how this works out. I might be interested in getting one.

Just do what I did and go the easy route… Honda Grom. 125cc and will do 65mph.

I have over 300 miles on mine now. It’s a blast.

Awesome Vlad. I didn’t know you picked up a Grom. I didn’t know they did 65 either. Post some pics. Give a short review of it too. I’m interested to hear what you think about it. It definitely looks fun. Might need to look into it.

this

Pitster Pro makes a few street legal bikes now, including a Z50 replica and a street bike version 125 as well.

If I had cash for the Grom, I would totally go that route.

No prob!
