Let me ask you all a couple questions-

  1. I know a lot of people who own A4s, so I can get pretty much anything done for next to nothing
  2. Parts may be expensive, but when you have hook-ups and can get most big things at list price, who cares?
  3. Electrical nightmares…never had that one.
  4. Reliability may suck, but at least it’s shit that isn’t major. Besides, it’s only control arms and a timing belt…nothing major like apex seals…haha.
  5. I can make my car pretty fast cheap if I had money. I can tune it myself, therefore eliminating the major difference in cost between other car companies and VW/Audi tuning.
  6. Quattro > *
  7. People who complain about cars being heavy (3200lbs in this case), drive a pile of shit. Car too heavy? Turn the boost up to compensate, pussy.
  8. Car looks classy. I’d be embarassed taking some loud gutted out car around, especially to a job where it would be noticeable or even worse a date :x.
  9. I can fit 2 1200s in a coffin case with my mixer in it
  10. Decent interior

ok, i’m done.

I bought a subaru because I like stock cars that are fast while still being easy to maintain. can’t beat the reliability factor.

and I like Australian automobiles.

(that was a joke… I know my car was made in Japan)

I bought a '92 Ford F150 because I wanted a truck and I liked it.
-It was really comfy and easy to drive
-It was a piece of shit
-It got 15mpg with the wind at it’s back and it was only the I6
-I sold it when my girlfriend’s mother was selling her old Sentra

The 93 Sentra was
-It was cheap
-It was reliable
-It was my first stick car so it was fun to drive
-It got 37-42mph consistently

I sold it when I graduated and started making real money and decided on a 10k price range. I bought my 01 Jetta VR6 5spd because
-I liked its look outside
-I looooove the interior
-It felt like a rocket compared to my sentra (I still love that VR6 electric-motor torquiness)
-It was 4 years old and had 57k miles but still drove like brand new
-I knew it would be macro reliable
-I don’t mind fixing small shit occassionally, it keeps me from breaking/fixing other things
-Some people like snick snick shifting but I like, be it motorcycles or cars, the german THAWUNK THAWUNK Shifting a german vehicle feels like you’re throwing a bridge girder on a teflon pivot, not fast but clean.

WRX for it’s aftermarket support, easy modibility, and proven reliability. And got it in wagon form, becuase I like the slow & ghey look.

And also I’m so sick of front-wheel drive.

Yeah i get that once in a while.

I bought the STi cause it was pretty fast with no work done to it. Its a very well balanced car from engine to suspension to brakes. Very pleased with the car and subaru makes the HOTTEST sounding 4 banger, that doesn’t hurt.

My parents didn’t buy mine which sucks cause payments are pretty high…

:word:

Except i spent alot more then 2k on my mods so far

I choose my Talon because it was turbo and AWD for about $6,000. The possibilities as far as modding go are pretty much endless. Its a very versatile car and I also love the way it looks, and handles.

I choose my tC knowing full well that it was going to be my daily driver. It looks good, has power everything, and it handles pretty good too. Its the first brand new car I have ever bought and its exactly what I wanted when I was shopping around.

:eekdance: well so did i, but i’m just relaying the facts that it is possible

yeah my parents bought mine so I can use the money I would spend on my car on silly shit like food and rent.

:ohnoes:

I chose my car because I wanted to hear shit about it from import drivers for the entire time I owned it. :bloated:

I had always driven German cars until the Evolution came to the USA.
The Evolution is everything I always wanted in a German car, AWD, powerful, under 2 tons, and lower priced.
I am a little older and when I was a kid German cars were more performance oriented.
Now they do not even offer a true sports car for less than $80,000.
Why can’t I buy a QUATTRO that weighs less than 3800#s and has 300hp?
I have had the old 20v turbo QUATTRO but I got sick driving 10-15 year old car.
I also had a 1971 911 that weighed 2000# and had 210hp.
Newer cars make for better daily drivers.
I HATED to buy a Japanese car but living in denial is worse.
Going to Audi driving schools and spanking the shit out of them in my little Evolution is fun.

Edit: My Evolution has much more interior room than my “luxurious” A4 and that comes in handy now that I roll with a car seat.:baby:

Edit II: I don’t know why anyone would ever buy front wheel drive for any reason.

My 2 cents.

i bought a vw, because it was cheap and a decent DD when its not falling apart.

I bought my 3rd Maxima because i Love my previous 2…because they are big, slow, heavy, handle like shit…but yet arent that heavy for a big car (3010 lbs), Not that slow compared to many cars, dont handle that bad especially when i get done with mine…and how many maximas do u see at the Auto-X and soon Roadcourse

I bought my Mustang for several reasons. I like the styling, I love the power and the sound, they are easy and cheap to mod, and when I was 19, I just wanted something kinda cool to cruise around in on a nice summer day.

I bought my Subaru because I wanted to buy something reliable and everyone I talked to had nothing but good things to say about them. AWD + Turbo = Fun. I opted for the wagon because I tend to haul a lot of stuff around. (I once used the Mustang to help my cousin move, worked out really well) And I just like Subarus, and as Rob said, its a pretty mean sounding 4 cylinder.

MR2 is one of the most fun cars I’ve ever been in. Can’t say enough good things about it. And it was the closest thing to an Esprit when I was 18…still have it, and love it as much as, if not more than the day I got it.

I’ve had multiple Honda’s too, and plan on continuing to own them as DD’s for prob. the rest of my life. They are above and beyond everything else out there. Period.
