LFA vs GT-R

Discuss.

In before “A car that costs XYZ amount only ran 11.XX in a 1/4 mile, would rather buy a ABC car with that money” comment is made.

And?

So, a stock car that costs 400K barley edged out another stock car that costs 80K or whatever. Put a full exhaust on each car and rerun the race…

Here we go again. LFA=unimpressive for 400K, despite all the fancy bodywork and gauges. Buying one just shows that you’re either one of the biggest Lexus nutswingers in the world, have too much money to know what to do with, or both.

Here’s the thing that I see… a $375,000 car running the 1/4 only .4 seconds faster than an $80,000 car. LFA seems nice, but I think the GT-R still out performed it. And that’s not just me being a Nissan fag.

Toyota engineers know (or used to know) turbocharging well, they could of made an Enzo killer for ‘not much’ more money. Thing could of made over 800 easy.

supercars aren’t built for 1/4 mile times.

/thread. no i didn’t watch the video either.

Good fucking job.

The basis of a street cars performance (weather it’s a ‘supercar’, ‘musclecar’, etc), is it’s straight line acceleration capabilities. Lexus, like GM, Ford, etc, is not an exotic car builder and needs to stand out in some way for true auto enthausiasts, not fanboi’s to be impressed.

Reverse /thread, begin reality.

Nice car, just priced too high. I think they should offer a factory TT setup and dominate for that price, but thats just my .02

LFA does sound sick though!!

Just wait till someone totals the first LFA and the drivetrain falls into the hands of a rich Supra owner :ohnoes

Don’t get me wrong, the car is sick. Sounds like an F1 car, looks like a million bucks. Problem is, it performs like $100,000 at most. The reasons it’s so expensive: 1) It’s handbuilt. Big whoop, so’s the GT-R. 2) It’s limited edition. Again, big whoop, so’s the V Spec. 3) It’s carbon fiber. I suppose this can be justified, but so is the Lotus Elise. 4) and the biggest one… It’s got a Lexus badge. This one really grinds my gears.

Should just have a big T badge instead :lol

and lamborghini started out making tractors, this is lexus’ attempt at building a supercar, just because they haven’t built one before doesn’t mean they can’t ever build one, and it seems to be successful since i heard they are all spoken for. and this isn’t the first time a normal manufacture has built a supercar, remember the million dollar nissan r390? it was a road car…and what exactly would you like the car to do in the 1/4 mile? and i think the 'ring is what most manufactures use as bench marks for their cars performance these days. and i don’t have a clue what the lf-a does there either. but everyone on this forum that thinks it’s over priced prob will never have a chance to own one, so it doesn’t matter anyways.

R390=134 trap speed, at least it’s relatively quick :lol

LFA is in bolt on C5Z range :lmao
