I can see the fine print being that you have to have records of all engine and tranny oil changes or else they would be just dumb.

[/quote]

I would go one step further. “all fluid changes/repairs involving the tranny have to be done by the dealership or warranty is void”

No way to know for sure until someone actually sees the warranty in writing.

Negatives in my mind:
-No SRT, Diesel, or commercial vehicles
-Does not transfer with the car (so if you own it for 3 years and sell, its done, Ford and GM transfer their powertrain warranty)
-Manditory inspection every 5 years (if you miss it by 60 days it voids the warranty)
-No mention of roadside assistance, towing and alternate transportation

But good marketing none the less.
Since this is the business I am in, I will keep people posted as I get more info

-No SRT, Diesel, or commercial vehicles
Can’t blame them there really.

-Does not transfer with the car (so if you own it for 3 years and sell, its done, Ford and GM transfer their powertrain warranty)
That’s a pretty big letdown.

-Manditory inspection every 5 years (if you miss it by 60 days it voids the warranty)
I can’t believe it’s 5 years. I think that’s more than generous. If you can’t get it inspected once every 5 years you deserve your warranty to be canceled.

-No mention of roadside assistance, towing and alternate transportation
Have to wait and see.

I’m assuming this is Cerberus’s first big decision?

roadside assistance is covered for the 3yr/36k that is also the bumper to bumper warranty, not a bad plan if you really like your car…gl to them! the american car companies needed to pull of something this! not to great for us hyundai sales reps though…

lol

OT: nice sig cal

A couple more points:
How does this make ownership worry free?
The majority of things that break are not covered and can still cost thousands to repair.
GM’s coverage is transferable and last 5/100, how can Chrysler say its the longest or best?
An average new car owner probably flips out of a car in 2, 3 or 4 years, maybe 5 years max.

OT:thank you but i guess it no longer applies…congrats on the rebuild!

or Hyundai warranty is:
10yr/100k powertrain
5yr/60k bumper to bumper
5yr/unlimited miles roadside assistance
7yr/unlimited miles anti-perforation(rust/corrosion)

but i guess it is the best “powertrain” warranty available right now, depending on your service writer… you know the techs are pissed about this, being all warranty work pays shit time…

chryslers are some of the biggest piles on the road especially new caravans i cant wait to see them go under even farther

I’ll probably be finding out all the fine print within the next couple of days because I work on the marketing for several Chrysler dealerships (we have to know all the disclaimer junk). If anything significant pops up, I’ll let you all know.

Here’s the information I was given this morning to work into their loop tapes. I have not read the parts listed in Section H yet, however. Just thought I’d pass it along.

It’s a good deal for someone who buys a car/jeep new and will be keeping it for a long time.

A lot of common repairs are included in there.

This makes me “think” about buying a ram

D. Excluded Vehicles
SRT vehicles, Sprinter vehicles, diesel equipped vehicles, all Ram Cab/Chassis vehicles,…

So wait, none of the Dodge Rams are covered?

This is also a good plan for people who drive a shitload, and would own their car for 5 years, and be over 100k within 5 years.

So wait, none of the Dodge Rams are covered?

No, I think it’s just the way it’s worded. I think the “/” means cab AND chassis insted of cab OR chassis. Sounds like the industrial cube vans, work truck, light dumps etc.

Also, even if you sell the vehicle in one or two years, there is still the 3yr./36K warranty.

Also sounds like they may end up covering clutches, too. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also sounds like they may end up covering clutches, too.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION CLUTCH PARTS ARE NOT COVERED AT THIS TIME.

owned

No diesel coverage is dumb (not for Chrysler). They do that because they know the Cummins eats 45RFE’s.
