Once again, being new I would like to know about the most best/reliable dyno tuners that have been tested/used by you guys. I would like to get a nice tune of my NA setup to keep it running 110% until it gets -T’ed. Price is always nice, but quality and experience with 240’s is key.
What needs to be tuned…er…what do you have that will allow the tuner to do anything?
- standalone
- piggyback
- fpr
- ???
Also - what mods do you have that makes you think you need a “tune”?
I have an extremely suped up 240… no not at all.
The long list of (engine) mods: intake, exhaust system, and a bit advanced timing.
My main mod is my 200,000 km.
So I could get an SAFC or some other piggyback if it would help at all.
Tuning my highly modified car would just be to keep it running at its best for its condition.
Also, I would like to do several runs to make sure my AFR is optimal and such.
A dyno tuning shop that I could get help from over the long term. Someplace with the expertise similar to http://www.xatracing.com/main.htm but around the gta.
Well - without the presence of a tuning tool (piggyback or standalone) there is really no need to worry about a tuner…just get in the phone book and find a local dyno with the cheapest dyno time (I think TAG does pulls for $50 or so).
Also - you may/will need to pay a bit extra for wideband use.
You’ll probably also need to pay to get a bung installed in your exhaust (unless the shop has a tail sniffer)
At this point I would sugeest you save your dyno money for when you really need it. There is nothing to say right now your car is not performing well. 200k ain’t all that much and the mods you have can easily be accounted for by your stock ECU tune.
Thanks for your help.
Any advice on what to look at next for a little more squeeze of power in the meantime before turbo? SAFC? Cams?
I just looked in the yellowpages, could not find an automotive section to do with dyno services. Any idea on the category?
Just do your research and only buy something that you can use now and benefit from when you turbo…
- pulleys
- some sort of piggyback
- fuel pump
- gauges (wideband 02)
- brakes
- more suspension
I will definitely look into some kind of piggyback ecu, and wideband O2. But I still can’t find any dyno places around anywhere. Not in the phonebook and the powerpages are down. Can anyone reccomend a good place?

Everybody knows, that Paul @ Neetronic`s is the place to be.
^^^ That is correct.
Yeah, Neetronics or NHR w/e is good, they are just really busy all the time.
