Of course I don’t know the details, but generally taking a left in front of the bike is a very common mistake that drivers make because they either fail to see the bike at all, or misjudge the distance to the bike and think they can make it in time.
He got a ticket for failing to yield, which implies that he cut the biker off in a normal situation.
Crappy either way, but all of us (bikers) dread that move, because we can’t see it coming, until it’s too late.
