Has there been updates on this project like completion date, jobs, etc.
Does anybody know anyone who will be working there??
I don’t know what happened to the original thread.
I no longer see articles in the news.

My friend got hired there I believe, for a helpdesk position IIRC. I haven’t heard any further developments in the building though
Has he been sent anywhere yet? There are articles that the range is between 65 - 75 for salary - is he making that much for Help Desk?
65-75 was for admins I’m pretty sure…Helpdesk probably makes less than half that. I’ll check in with him and report back.
My structural design is being used on all three buildings, I know that Support Louvers and Louver Openings are not 100% fabricated. I talk to Yahoo’s engineers and the GC daily and their tentative date for completion: late May.
Thanks for the info!
I here that the basic NOC employees are getting between 60 - 65.
I got to see what I can to get in there if that is true.
Uhh
You should have applied months ago when I posted it…
I know their network connection from isn’t built out yet.

And :tif: making 60k to report about lights going from green to red seems kinda boring
It all depends on how you look at it - working for Yahoo is a plus, if you follow the trail, you should end up in bigger and better places.
I did apply.
Not only did I apply, so did every WNY IT person in any entry level position.
I guess? If you want to move out of Buffalo
From talking with a couple yahoo recruiters it doesn’t sound like they’re going to have many high level engineers.
I thought your current job was good anyways…
Yes, it is great. However, I am not making the money I should be making. This is what sucks, this is my fourth position within the last 4 years since I started in Nov. 2006 and money wise, I don’t have much to show (I saved a lot which allowed me to buy a house). If I would go look at other companies, then yea, I will get more money because I am new blood. I just think Yahoo! would be a good company to work for and a resume booster if I show progression.
I heard completion for late May also. That’s going to be a tough task. The trucks line up around the corner for deliveries every day lol. The change orders that come from Yahoo are amazing though! Shifty, who do you work for? Are you usually at the job meetings?
Seibel Engineering. I never have time to make any job meetings or walk through especially now I am working on 3 bridges in NYC, Delaware Memorial and the GI bridge. FourEyed are you on site? who do you work for? I have not been on-site to see the buildings, only through StruCad
The change orders that come from Yahoo are amazing though!
I know! The Louver Supports started as channels, then Wide Flanges and finally ended up using HSS tubing.
Is it the same layout still as this?
Grey is parking
Blue is the ponds
rectangle purple is the main building
Not sure about the square structure
EDIT - substation
I work for Anastasi Trucking. I am not on site all the time, but I did the gps model for the sitework, and deal with Joe from Structuretone a lot.
That purple square is an electrical substation, and the layout has separate buildings, but still the same basic layout. From what I heard, Yahoo is trying to buy the land behind the data center, but have no plans yet to expand.
ROFL @ substation for 10MW…
btw what does a security analyst 1 do?
Makes a lot of money
Uh probably not
For a network security analyst? The average pay is over 70k
Not in Buffalo
