epic lulz

Seems about right. I think they should cut government funding to everything by 25%.

I came on the board to post this. I was at my parents hotel room this morning and saw it sitting on the table and broke into laughter. They were confused for a moment but laughed with me after a 30 second explanation. (They live in FL where a blind jackass is not in charge)

I don’t like paterson, but at least he is trying to cut expenses instead of taking on more debt & raising taxes…

Is there a better option?

The time of this thread is before the time of your post.

He’s a democrat? Just raise taxes! :awdrifter:

I like it. Tough times = cut back, not raise taxes.

my only problem are the major cuts in education

Exactly. People rip on the Gov but i give him some credit to not just raising taxes to cover the gap.

How much longer before the state realizes that pensions for state workers need to be taken away? It’s been proven in the private sector that companies cannot afford to do it, why should the state be any different? I’m sorry if I offend any state workers, but you’d just have to save for retirement like the rest of us.

:word:

Not when it’s such a huge part of your budget. Nothing should be off limits.

:iagree:

If you look at Cali all they have been doing to “solve” their budget problem is issuing more debt and sweeping the deficit under the rug to clean up the next budget year.

I hate Dems, but Paterson seems to be trying to do the right thing. That why they hate him.

no one has said anything about cutting the number of state workers. there are 1,000’s of people who have state jobs that aren’t crucial to operation, get rid of them. at the same time, get rid of the 100’s of 1,000’s who do nothing but leach off of the rest of us. that would solve some budget issues without hurting schools or kids and shifting more tax burden to the deflating number of taxpayers.

The biggest problem with welfare is you cant cut it cold-turkey. One the public is use to it, the only way to end it is to ween them off of it.
