Paterson is not the problem. He’s one of the first politicans to be open about how fucked our budget is and take steps to address it immediately. The longstanding NYS policy to comply with their balanced budget requirement is to rob the future to cover right now.

Actually just common sense on their part in ordering a Home Depot rug that looks nice instead of a $21,000 rug for his palace. It’s not like they didn’t know we were heading towards financial issues in this country even last year. No need for an expensive rug.

It would be a sign showing that you are trying to help the economy. Spending $21K where that equates to a portion of salary of a person that is getting laid off or losing their job due to the fiscal crisis.
