Looking at ZX6Rs

i am seriously looking for 01 to 05 ZX6R’s, gotta be green.

i’m wondering, if one particular year is better than another, or any comments, or anything you heard about these bikes.

or any specs you know of.

i came across a 01 for $4k, i’m not sure what exactly they’re worth, it’ll be my first bike.

03-04 are the best years, thats when they went to 636 cc’s ~135 hp~, the newer ones are nice as well, but i hear there are problems seeing the guages unless laying flat (not most of the riding)

I’ve got an '04 but it needs painted and has plastics damage around the turn signals from being dropped (not while moving)

I realize this is not what ur looking for but my opinion holds true of the years for zx6rs. Def do not get a carbed bike 01 + 02 may be carbed, not sure.

X2, I think in 04 636 was the top bike on the ciurcit.

i’m pretty simple when it comes to bikes

i just want a green one, and i want the best 600 out of all the green ones.

so anything past 2002, and 04 would be best. go it.

oh, whats the difference between a " R " and a " RR " ???

RR is stripped down a bit more for weight I believe. The RR is going to be as close to race ready as you can get without changing stuff yourself.

I think 04 or 05 is the last year they offered that.

01-02 ZX6R’s were carb’d. I sold my 02 6R a few months ago, nothing wrong with carb’d bikes, it ran well. 03 and up they changed the body style, went to FI and up’d the hp. The 03+ models are the better bikes.

the 6r’s had 636ccs from 02 to 04 right? and the RRs had a 600?

6Rs had 636 From 02 till 07.

The Limited production 6RR was 600. But in 07 They are only offering the (6R)

Also starting 07 they took the CCs back to 600.

So:

02 - 6r - 600cc
03/04/05/06 - 6r - 636cc
05/06 - Limited 6rr - 600cc (due to class restrictions for racing)
07 - 6r only - 600cc
