I didn’t read all the replies so sorry if this has already been said but I would post up on ls1tech.com and see what they say. Or, do a search on ls1tech.com or ls1gto.com and you will get a ton of results. Does your GTO have a some sort of an Italian plate frame?
Wow maybe you should spend more time in therapy. I asked WHY you “new era rep” like to shovel and talk shit about TSP? Last I checked they were a pretty big shop and they must’ve done something right to get big. Probably just more of the drama you and your cronnies like to incite
:picard: good job I guess
Can we keep the shop hate on the side burner and give the OP some advice / background / performance specs & records?
KTHX
Go read this and decide depending on what you want. Then either figure out which of the many shops sells something similar or have someone make a custom grind for you.
Advice would be if you don’t intend to rev it past 6200 rpms stick with a smaller camshaft. The large cams that make the impressive dyno numbers (not necessarily a fast car) will need a very loose stall convt in an automatic. For stock cylinder heads, stock stall, and nice torque down low stick with something that is at max 230 on the intake and 232 on the exhaust. For an automatic I would stick with a 113-115° LSA, leave the 110-112 for the T56 guys
well bananas is a stick. he’s seen my car. heard my car. he already has a bottle, he merely asked for opinion and i gave it. Nowhere did i mention that my cam is the best shit ever. i simply said it works and works well. for having a full weight car, with a/c and all it does damned well. Now maybe you don’t think so but thats not what he asked. I gave him my cam specs and whatnot so he has some idea of what he’s up against.
He’s obviously not looking for a big cam since he doesn’t want to rev sky high. Too many big cams out there only make great peak power and lose tq down low. I’d say for what he wants he should be in the 228/230 580-600 range and since a bottle maybe a 111.
you not only picked out my cam but you bastards surprised the shit out of me and put it in!! I rev the shit out of it, it makes oodles of power and I fuckin love it…
so what did I get?
Thanks for all the advice, i think i will have some thinking to do, and some calls to make. But cant wait to be camming.
ya, call mike.
Call Texas Speed @ 806-866-0734 or Thunder racing @ 877-516-7223

Stop trying to start arguments in this thread…As soon as you are no longer affiliated with Newera I will start suggesting them to people again. Until then I wouldn’t feel comfortable referring anyone to Newera.
If you have something worthless to say PM me.
thanks
Don’t forget Futral Motorsports @ 225-791-9593

All these shops do their own R&D and have probably 1000’s of happy customers with fast cars not just inflated dyno numbers
232/234
.3500/.3520
112 sep,
.595/.598 lift.
Comp Cam
part number 54-446-11,
grind number xer281hr-12.
I went with a Futral cam. Allan at FMS was super helpful helping me pick out the cam.
ya allan and candy are good people Ive talked to them on the phone. We put a few of there cams in and tuned them.
Tim, if you looking for something cheaper. There a used SS HT in storage, thats a customers. Its not really FS, but if you make a offer. I can see what he says?
Also there a custom comp Mike wanted me to call to get the specs to sell. It made 500whp NA in a 402-416 L92 motor. Probally sell it for like $200 150-$100 cheap with install. And you have the $100 retune on your car.
I’ve also read a lot of good stuff about vengence racing. The guy that spec’d all their cams out used to run everything at GMMG
vengance has a happy dyno, futral are good guys, met them at pri they know their shit, as john said weve tuned a couple of their cams, they make good power and torque, thunder racing is also a good group of intelligent guys. no matter what cam you get youll be happy with it.
:hitit: they aren’t the only ones
Who cares what the dyno numbers are Vengance has built some very fast cars from the ground up. BTW does the shit talking ever end?
LG Motorsports also has kits with properly matched components to make the most power, a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for
