they are definitely doing it the right way, no matter what anyone says. If you throw a generic size and it doesnt run right because of that, then you have to start the guess work. If you measure and get the right length the first time you know that will never be the problem if it doesnt run right

Oh, I agree… if you have the time and the tools to measure, you might as well do it!
