LT1 to LS2

I was wondering if i could just throw on a set of LS2 head onto my 94 LT1 i am just tyring to figure out some options or if anyone knows i can get a set of LT1 heads. I have a slight problem, i sorta blew out a spark plug and now the head is stripped so i am SOL for the moment. so i was thinking an LS2 conversion. Any info or help is welcome

nope ls2 is totally different design… im sure JJ’s has some lt1 heads laying around !!!

yea, you should be able to find some LT1 heads pretty easily… check around the junkyards even… jj’s… and ebay… no one really has much of an interest in the LT1 anymore it doesnt seem…
also, are you looking for a firebird head (alluminum) or an impala head or a caprice head (both iron i believe)… good information to have handy when looking for them

Buy some used ones and send them out to get ported/polished. And get a better cam. And injectors. And valvetrain. And stall. And tune. And throttle body. And headers. Etc. :slight_smile:

and after all of that, you will almost be as fast as a stock ls1. :smiley:

Nahh its a 94 formula firebird. and id like to keep the LT1 as lame as it sounds, as stated not many people keep them going and I’d like to be semi original with the bird so i just wnana build up the LT1 but for the time being i just need the set of heads( kinda sad not having it running). I plan on getting another set of heads and going from there with the port and polish and build up. I mean i am not trying to go outrageous with horsepower when i build it, I’d be more then happy to hit mid to high 300.

I don’t think it’s worth the money. Better off getting the stock heads ported. And it’s going to be hard to find LT4 intake manifolds because they quit making them.
