Im thinking about ditching my lame ass dell that runs slow as shit and getting a macbook, since i dont have a spare 1,000 to buy one outright, i was thinking about going and finincing one, anyone done this before? Think its worth it? I havent really hear much negative things about macbooks, my brother has one and its amazing Orrr, if someone has one for sale LMK
I love my mac… but this is the wrong site to ask people about them.
Eh, i know theres a few computer dudes out there…unless there all dell guys
I just got a macbook pro a few months ago and I financed it. Just choose the Barclay card that has the 0% interest for 1 year. If you get the protection plan it will come out to be about $1400. The best part about the card is that it is a visa card so you can use it anywhere else. There is on part of the card that you could find a hassle is that it doesn’t put you on a minimum payment that will pay of the computer in that year. You just have to make sure you are paying off enough per month. But it also can be a good thing because if you are short 1 month you can always make it up on another month just as long as you make the minimum. I think my minimum is $13/month
Ohhh i see, so its almost like, you pay what you want a month, as long as you pay it off in a year, and if not i think i read you get screwed with interest rates out the ass
they put the interest that you should have paid on it from the beginning. I forget what the interest rate was but I think its somewhere around 20%. But if you pay it off within that year you have nothing to worry about. I have the money to pay it off but I’m waiting till month 11 to pay it off to help build my credit.
Nice, i think im going to go for it, seems like a reasonable deal, and its a good way to get my credit up :thumbup
Do it man, Apple makes a great computer.
27" iMac/iPod Touch/iPad owner here.
next computer will be a big boy iMac, cant wait.
lol in this world we have more than a dell and a mac
Im scooping one up in approx 2 years.
/pjb
Love my Macbook, hate using any other lap top now!
Applied for the card, getting muh macbook sooon yeah
You’ll like it. I had a dell before I got my macbook and the first thing I noticed about the mac was the build quality over the dell. Honestly, the whole thing is just build far better. I’ve never broken anything on this computer and I beat the living piss out of it. My dell literally fell apart, I can take a picture of the drawer dedicated to all of the pieces if you want. :lol
I have a dell and i hate it. I use my iPad for everything pretty much. But i want a MacBook to do the stuff my iPad cant do. But i dont have an extra 1000 either. So ill just use my iPad for now.
You people are throwing money to the wind. Just sayin.
You could get a nice new laptop (Latitude E6410 for example), for peanuts compared to a Mac and if you know how to use it, you’ll be a’okay. I can even give you some free pointers.
Not saying Macs are bad (Apple does make good quality equipment), just in my opinion they are WAY over priced. But hey, they ‘just work’ and if that is worth $1,400 to you instead of spending $700 and actually learning how to use a piece of technology…by all means. If they were more comparable to Dells/HPs…I’d possibly rock one. But not for the price they are right now.
This. Plus how Apple packages everything, it’s wrapped up 56,567 times in the box.
Just ordered a Lenovo Thinkpad about 6hrs ago. Great options and specs minus the 4GB memory, but I wasn’t expecting perfection for the deal I got on it. It was $550 discount from the start, then I found a coupon code for “employee pricing” which gave me another $109 off. Ended up paying $970.
Financing so you can overpay for a laptop with mediocre specs :facepalm
I do like Mac’s, the overall “package” is great, the hardware is solid, and the software is nice once you learn it. In reality though, you are paying twice as much as someone who bought a comparable Dell/Toshiba/HP etc for the same hardware specs in a pretty case. This is truth, anyone who can read specs and compare can see this.
If you had the money, I’d say hey great enjoy it. Financing when you don’t have the money is dumb, now I’m not saying your not going to be able to afford the minimum $50 dollar payment or whatever it may be, but being in debt for an elitist bastards laptop is stupid.
Also, if you don’t have a lot of experiance with a Mac, and have used windows your whole life, chances are your going to want to throw it out the window a few times when you try and do certain things. I’ve had many customers NOT listen to me when I told them it was a bit of an odd learning curve especially if they’ve been using Windows their whole lives, but they don’t listen. Thats fine thou, they pay me for lessons :tongue
Dude. It’s zero percent interest. Let him do as he pleases
