So as I have brought up in a previous thread many moons ago - the affordability of larger luxury sedans becomes more and more within our reach. I for one, love large, obnoxious, completely unnecessary sedans, with reclining rear foot-rests, curtains, refrigerators, etc.
So what do you think would be a more reliable, less expensive to maintain vehicle other than the Lexus LS460L (which is probably the most reliable)?
-2006+ Audi S8: 5.2L V10 sounds amazing but the Lamborghini based engine scares me.
-Maserati Quattroporte: Something tells me it would need major service every 10K miles…or less.
-Jaguar XJR: Meh…
Mercedes Benz S65 AMG: Twin Turbz V12
-Mercedes Benz S600 coupe/sedan: More 5.5L Twin turbz V12 action
-BMW 760Li: V12
Thoughts/opinions on others? Obviously these aren’t racecars and wouldn’t be driven like one lol.
car does sound sweet, but what happens when there is an electronic problem with one of the umtine billion gizmos? Car must have miles of wire and a shit ton of modules, those 2 facts would keep me from owning one.
Lexus LS > Infiniti M (my car is kind of basic and still has a load of features - but the fully loaded ones come with rear reclining seats, rear cooled seats, etc. so it is definitely in this class of car IMO but it’s a newer brand who’s still building it’s reputuation, etc.) > Audi A8 > BMW 7-Series > Benz > Panamera > Maserati > *
The above is based on overall value, etc.
Based on looks only:
LS > A8 > 7-Series > new M-series > *
I am a HUGE fan of the new LS460’s…definitely hope to own one after the M or a few years later. Such an awesome car. Bottom line, to me, is anything Japanese > anyone else. German/Euro cars are more expensive to maintain, tend to not be as reliable, and usually cost more than their Japanese counterparts. I’ll probably always buy Japanese.
