maintenance on a ford escape...

I really disagree here.

The ones that are falling apart are the off lease ones that some chic owned, and never had any service.

Any newer car is going to get to 100k with no problem if you stick to the service on it, even a fucking kia.

If she has 10 grand to spend, and is looking for a little girl truck type thing, then get a scion xb.

If she really needs a truck to actually tow or move around things, then get a ranger with the duratech, or the mazda clone which in my opinion looks sharper than the ranger.

Well, I’ll be the dissenter and say that my mother bought one new in '05 and it’s been trouble-free. Her’s is the Duratec V6, however.

The main problem with Escapes is the CD4E transaxle, which had a history of failures (Ford front-drive, go figure).

But all in all, it’s still stout and rattle free.

I’m looking at buying a Dodge pickup with 100k to 200k to get it into my price range. But I’m not financing.

rav4 or crv. you cant go wrong with a honda

Yeah, but knowing you it will be a diesel, which regularly last past 300k.

Plus, if something breaks you’ll just fix it, which can make a higher mileage vehicle affordable.

12V Cummins FTW!

I agree with the popular consensus, buy the Toyota.
