Man down! Did good this time (carnage).

Well, we left show an go, cruising slowly(waiting for others to catch up) on Iron Ore rd right before Rt 33 in Jersey, about 15 mins from Englishtown. I turn onto Iron Ore in 2nd and give it a little romp.

2nd gear is 15psi on the button, and as per the log the revs were held at 7700-7850 once traction was lost. I ended up with this:

Now fast forward 1 week later.

Picked the car up yesterday, towed it home and started tearing it apart.

Cyl 2(the one with the hole in it) – Upper bearing was knicked w/an extension, thus the tiny “gouges”:

my condolences

Holy fucking shit. That is some serious carnage.

Plans to rebuild?

Always plans to rebuild.

What was she supposed to spin to?

Limiter is at 8450.

:tantrum: I wanted to race another fast fwd that wasnt a honduh.

It’s ok, looking to be back and better by mid july.

Ouch, sorry for your temporary loss.

That sucks Brian! Can’t wait to see what’s next

holy crap.

Not significantly more. The turbo is just fine, not a single chip/mark on the exh wheel, so I won’t be upgrading that(thank god).

It’ll just be a 2.0 instead of 1.8, and an extra 50whp or so.

yikes

mmmm vavle soup

These things happen.

Yup, this is my 5th engine technically (we’ll say valvetrain setup) in 3 years.

Well good to hear you will have it going again reasonably soon.

Sounds like one o’ them self-hatin’ Veedubs.

Sucks dood, but can’t say you are surprised anymore.

Damn that sucks. Good luck with the rebuild. Keep us posted.

Yea, its how it goes. Luckily i’ve gotten parts down pretty cheap just cuz i buy so many. haha.

oops…

sticking with 5v?

Brian
