manifold bolts and studs

What is the easiest way to remove the bolts and nuts (off the studs) on my exhaust manifold?

I know I going to have to bang them and such. My buddy told me to take a deep socket, attach it to an extension and back on the top of the extension really hard. This will shake the manifold and vibrate the bolt/nut good.

If this doesn’t work, are there ways of using heat? Any other suggestions are welcome. I don’t want to snap a stud or bolt in the head.

Thanks,

Andrew.

get a good weighted hammer, hit the main manifold, NOT THE RUNNERS, a couple times, try not to crack manifold, thennn… bust out the WD40, soak that in for 15mins, use lots, then grab a 2" extension with proper shallow socket, and a 2’ breaker, or a ratchet with lead piipe attached, and go nuts, if that dont work, try doing it with the car running, no im not joking… this is not a parody, i had to go through all of this before when i worked at crappy tire
