Mark's Track Day! Oct 14th (Dunnville Autodrome)

^^^ i’ll take it, if nobody on the waiting list will. Mark lemmy know if this is cool, i can send payment today.

John suggested that I come down and throw down some driving tips and car setup ideas for you guys.

Sandra is really beaten up otherwise i woudl think about taking her, but if you guys need anything (or should i say, if any of you can admit you need anything) let me know here ahead of time and i’ll gauge the amount of intrest, if its there i’ll come by and help out.

Don’t be shy to let me take your car out either - not joking - but its the best way for me to show you how to improve (both your car and your driving)

Hopefully I can learn from some of you dudes as well! Looking forward to it.

I could definitely use your help personally. A LOT of it. And I’m sure that a lot of other people would love for you to drive their cars.

Yeah that sounds pretty cool to me. I’d be up for some tips too.

Zagatto, I think it is completely AWESOME that you go balls out in the rolla (I noticed you removed the “co” very pimp) nothing to be ashamed of for sure!

Sasha, if you come out I would be very interested in some suspension tuning pointers… I’m pretty much just using trial and error right now.

And to be honest who couldn’t use some driving pointers from someone with experience.

Let me know if you wanna go for a ride in my car, as I’m sure I can give you some pointers for next season. :o

^^ I wanna be like you when i grow up :stuck_out_tongue:

like sasha explained above, I asked him to come out and give some instruction and car configuration tips.

I highly recommend letting sasha in the very least come for a ride along in your car but like he said, it would be in your best interest to let him take it for a few laps with you riding shotgun. He can give you excellent driving tips and this way he can get proper feedback from your car in order to give you some fantastic advice on what needs to be changed in order to get the most out of your setup.

Most of us dont have a clue about damper tuning, spring rates, sway bar thickness/stiffness, etc and what the REAL effect on our cars is.

Just a note to Sasha though, most of the attendees aren’t on this board - If you decide you’re going to show up for sure definitely let me know via PM and I will make sure everyone at the track is notified that we have a professional on site who is donating his time to us and I’m sure there will be interest there.

Who’s ready for Sunday?

what’s on sunday?

Mark, can I sleep oveeeeeeeeeeeer?

Slow and overweight?

Hey by any chance are spectators allowed?

yes absolutely.

feel free to come out and watch… and then get jealous and then want to drive at the next one!

Hahaha sounds good man, lookin forward to the jealousy!

My brakes are done now (now I know what glazed pads look like) and tires have been confirmed for Sunday. This is turning out to be an incredible day for me. I am so pumped up about this weekend.

One change I am going to make this time is that I’m only going to stay on the track 15 minutes at a time with 30 minutes of cool down between lapping sessions. I can’t afford to glaze my brakes again so soon.

15 Minutes is more than enough time to glaze brakes, and they cool much faster than 30minutes.

If you are worried about overheating your brakes run to home depot and do some quick ghetto ducting, and only stay out for 4-5 hot laps at the most, thats all it takes to fry brakes.

2-3 cool down laps and then back at her again

well… the first time I did lapping at Dunnville I did 15 minute sessions and didn’t have any problems. Now I have better brake pads (better than OEM but still not Hawks) so I’m not as worried.

I think I’ll cool it down on the front straight as well. Most of my hard braking was going into turn 1.

Of course, knowing me, I’ll be going balls out the whole day and end up needing to do my brakes again. I’m my own worst enemy.

Yea i’m sure your first 15minute session you we’rent pusshing very hard either

it seems you can push reasonbly hard and be realatively easy on brakes, its that last tenth of effort that seems to anihilate them!

well im ready to rumble , got my cams tuned , wow what a huge difference that made !! only problem is my blody starter is beginning to crap out , hope i can get it fixed today
