That car is stupidly tempting. Better deal than just about anything else I’ve looked at.
sketchy how the owner wants to remain anonymous IMO
GC8!!!
With a GC8, with that many mods… I’d end up being in TTU or TTS, easily. It’s bad enough my stupid little pussy VF52 is putting me in TTA.
why not retrofit an sti based coilover setup into the lgt, or go with a full custom setup like motons?
I am going with a full custom setup.
With the work that would be needed to make the STi sets work (which is impossible in the back since it’s a completely different rear suspension design), and how I’d need custom mounts anyways, it’s not worth it.
I’m getting a set of JRZ’s.
i wouldnt mind a set of s.t.i seats for the camaro just get the s.t.i off of it lol
+1 ^, I bought a pair of these for the Odyssey and have never had issues sliding out of proper driving position whenever I merge into Latham Circle, hardcore.
The material in the pink heart is super grippy and will work wonders whether you are going for a new personal best MPH off Exit 7 or entering the corkscrew at Laguna Seca.
It also matches the badging on the Stis so more ++ on the street cred tip as well.
are you just looking for something with remote res. to keep them cool? and are the top hats at least similar? if not a new set could easily be made to make any damper and spring setup work. i would look into these
http://stance-usa.com/sus/products/coilovers/gr3way
and adapt the bottom in the rear with these
http://stance-usa.com/sus/products/chassis/diy-weld-on-damper-adaptor
and then pet a kitteh with these
http://stance-usa.com/sus/products/safety/x2-driving-gloves
then model on the car with a pair of these
http://www.cafepress.com/+subaru_sti_classic_thong,174387986
then tiger hug one of these
and thats it. presto!
No it’s not that simple.
the kittehs and the tiger hugs? no, it IS that easy. i would have to look at it obviously but the coilover bodies can be adapted. the basis for every coilover is the same, the adaptation is attachment, the fronts from an sti are said to fit on 05-09 legacy. i swiftly browsed around a couple forums.
:thumbup
Gettin good…
On every Legacy forum I’m on, they say that no suspension pieces for an STi will fit the Legacy. The chassis’ are completely different.
Stance makes a GR+ for the LGT, and I already emailed them a while back asking if they’d make a GR+ 3-way for it as well to suit my needs. They said they would, but I’m going to get something a bit higher in quality.
i just want s.t.i seats or suttin of the likin lol
Buy an already built race car with a logbook and competitive results, don’t build it. Money saved. Spend extra money on car setup with a pro level driving coach that is familiar with the chassis.
option b sounds good as well ^^
For what he wants to do, he needs a very capable shock that’s easy to engineer and find parts for and, of course, fits a certain budget. That’s why we ruled out all the Stancey K-Sport whatever stuff.
This. As long as you arent buying someone else’s problems.
This is really your best bet. If you’re looking to narrow down your options, get a car that’s built, well-documented, and is proven. Then you really just have to work on your driving of said car, in whatever class it’s been built for, which, as frustrating as it can be, narrows down your field of variables to just your learning curve.
Yup, that’d be my $0.02.
And top of all of that, that is a damn nice GC.
