heyy guys, im wondering how much it would cost for a set of MB Motorsport Competition 17x9 5x114.3 +27? Any places sell those rims in mississauga or surrounding areas? Let me know if there are any quotes available for these rims. It’s either these rims or 5zigen FN01R-C Hot Version 17x9 +20 5x114.3 :/:
Also, im wondering if having 215/40/R17 on the front and 225/40/R17 on the rear would be good with thos MB Motorsport rims?
u can stretch 215 45 17 on 9 . and 225 47 17 on 9. just fine.
and duckjai is the man to goto for ur rim and tire inquiries. gbtires.ca
i bought my set of mb off him.
NVmySX - Its almost exactly what your looking for; brand new. I’m letting it go for $800, tires & rims. If anything, contact Samson if you want different specs.
I fit 17x9+17 with 255/40/17 front and rear, needed a pull on front and rear, rolled fender in rear as well. I test fitted first with my KYB AGX + stech combo and it fit fine in the front for your information. Rear is never a problem. Not too sure on +20, as it seemed like it had just enough clearance not to rub with +17. Not too sure about other coilovers but mine work fine as well.
I wouldn’t run gay 215s on a 17x9 wheel, but whatever rocks your boat. If being jdm and gay is your thing go ahead. No offense to you homies running stretched tires lol. Complete waste of a larger size wheel and unecessitated extra unsprung weight.
They’re basically an alternative to fns, slightly lighter or same weight i forget, the 17x9+17 weighs 19.8lbs. But at a much lowerp rice and imho slightly better look… but that depends on one’s opinion. They’re also pretty strong and a nice track set of wheels on the cheap. Of course I wish I had rpf1s buut it’s all good
Go for it. Samson is cool and he hooked me up with my setup.
A 215 should be fitted on a 7.5" rim and a 225 should be fitted on a 7.5" as well… A 245 on a 8.5" 235 on a 8 and so on… no bulging, no stretching, as square as possible for optimum fitment.
I was on the fence about my sexuality so I opted for 215 on a 17x9 up front. Also, I didn’t like being Pakistani, so natuarally the Japanese thing would be to run 225 in the rear.
so u guys are saying that running 215/40/17 for the front and 225/40/17 on the rear isnt up to par wen it comes to having 17x9 mb motorsport competition rims?
I also don’t like stretched tires but I guess they look kinda cool.
I was running 17x9 +10 in the front and +5 in the rear with 215/45/R17 at the beginning of the summer and 225/45/R17 at the end. The tires tracked hard and the car was annoying to drive. I put the stock 15s back on and I enjoy driving the car much more. Next season I’m gonna try pulling the fenders and fitting some phatty tires on my shit.
i dont mind bulky tires but it depends what im going to use them for … if its for the track or strip or whatever, than ya ill slap on some 255’s no problemo … but for every day driving and the simple stuff, im good with 225’s in the rear plus i like there definition, they look snug around the fender …
here are a few pics that i found of 5zigen FN01R-C 17x8 +35 with 205/40/17 for the front and 17x9 +20 with 235/40/17 for the rear (i personally think the front tires should be 215’s or 225’s):
Why do you think the fronts ‘should’ be 215s and rears 225s lol?
Here’s 255s on 17x9+17. I don’t have better pix. I’ll take some in the spring. Car is back in winter storage until spring.
I will lower the car maybe 1" all around will see. Front is -3.0 camber and rear is -1.5 camber fyi. I’ve driven it for like 3 weeks on regular road, but car is intended for track next year Still have a few issues to sort out though. Plus winter is here. Before I drop it I need to get some tender springs too. It’s just a work in progress.
u have a very nice setup there! ya i dont want tires that are 255’s because my car wont be intended for track use, just regular everyday driving and i like low profile tires but not too much otherwise the drive will be a pain in the ass when it comes to feeling every bump on the road … i guess it all comes down to personal preference and what use your gonna have for those tires lol … like the 235’s that are in one of the pics i posted above on the rear of the
fn01rc rim, thats perfect enough, i dont like too bulky or too skinny tires, just right in between …
by the way, what kind of rims are those? MB Competitions? again sweet setup!
Too be honest I haven’t fully setup the car yet, I did everything last second just before the snow, so I could enjoy it at least a lil, as I didn’t drive the car for six months or so. All things in perspective, the car was a tiny bit ‘loose’ in feel over cracks in the road and whatnot but not so much… it’s more of a get used to it thing. But anyways I won’t be able to really comment on that until everything is properly dialed in. The only thing I can say is, in the rain it’s not very pretty (eg; this morning). There was layers of rain everywhere and it sucked driving in it… but in dry… kick ass.
