Club is jst growing, our list of supporters and sponsors is small so
honestly, there isn’t much to gain from the $35. Hopefully it’ll change over

i think if at the end of the year the money was not well spent then we should start to think of ways to save money for the following year, a good idea might be to post what the money is being spent on as it comes in, like make an updated budget stickied somewhere.
But i still think that the car wash is a good idea for this year.

Well this thread went to hell after my comment on ignorance.
I had to do some cleaning up in here and even though Mercedeh’s suggestions gave me teh wood, i had to delete them. Because we are not going to have various wimminz wash cars for us. This isn’t a BET late night rap video.
Has anyone looked into having ad banners on the site? Anyone? Money saved on hosting can be used towards a booth at DN2.
I have read this thread over and over and believe me when i say that i will pay the $35. It’s just that i’m taking the liberty and speaking on most’s people behalves, and i’m sure most people wouldn’t want to pay $35. Someone said it’s easier to get $35 people to pay $10 than it is for 10 people to pay $35. But we do need something to offer the community in exchange for their $upport.
If i’m just giving away $35 i want some questions answered. I understand that you guys are still ironing out the details about the membership perks. But just to clarify, the money we raise for the club will go towards events.
How many events will we have every year?
DN2, X amount of track days w/BBQ. I would like to see us have meets at other Car appreciation events. For example the drag races at Cayuga, the AutoX events at the Hershey Centre. Both places would be ideal for a BBQ and for exposure. Last summer, only a couple of us met at the AutoX events, and i don’t even know if anyone went to the drag races. Bring that big ol’ banner to every meet/event we attend and wave it around like you just don’t care.
A portion of the collection will be a deposit on the track days.
Do we get charged a lower entrance fee?
What if some of the paying members aren’t able to make the track day, will there be another day? And can i bring my hacky sack?
Sorry Andrew, i’m not sure but did you say that the $35 is an annual fee or lifetime?
I think i have an idea that might cough up a little bit of cash from the people who don’t want to pay the $35. We charge them for avatars and signatures. It could work and there is no harm in trying. Maybe like $5 to edit their avatar and signatures for a month. Of course the $35 members get this for free. It worked on another forum of mine, but the guys on there change their avatar as often as they change their socks. Which explains my constant updates.
We start off with our original avatar, and if you do something stupid like get banned, you lose it. I got banned for a week and lost mine. 
After a month, the current avatar is standard and cant be changed unless you cough up another $5. :twisted: In SON’s case we might have to delete everyone’s avatar and then have them pay up. And the new registers don’t start with avatars. Muahahahaa

It would be cool if our sponsors donated prizes so we could hold contests every month or so. I personally think we should get our act together first and then start asking for the bread. Get the gallery up, get more (better) sponsors, start spreading the word and gaining exposure, attend more meets and events (not only are own but also of other car clubs). Of course this is better to do when the weather gets warmer.
Which brings me to my last ( :cheers: )question… when is this new membership system taking place?

The forums are a community, and you can’t just strip them totally away.
I think the way it stands now is good. If we have things that will get people to become members it will be better then making this totally a members only club.
People will go to other forums to get info instead of paying 10 bucks.
I do it anyways, even if i paid $35 here. Cost to me right now to get info on my car is zero.
