Well, this evening, Nis240, Deathby240, PyreXXX, and myself had a short meeting at BP’s about the non-profit societies stuff.
We signed all the info we needed to,talked briefly about what will be the Board of Directors and other positions, and about the NECC related events this summer.
President = Me
Board of Directors = 2 events coordinators (Deathby240, silvia_s13), President (me), Treasurer (1mns13), and 1 senior (voted) NECC member (who I would like to see being Nis240, because of his consistent commitment to the club).
Secretary = PyreXXX
We noted that after the club has been fully setup as “official”, and any little kinks have been ironed out over the next year or two, we would start holding “elections” for the above positions.
Here is a small list of the events that the NECC plans on attending or organizing:
2 Edmonton Sport Compact Challenge
1 Calgary Sport Compact Challenge
1 Edmonton V8less Urban Battles
1 Calgary V8less Urban Battles
1 Edmonton Z Car Club Show and Shine
2 NECC Dyno Days (May and August)
1+ NECC Hot Lap event at Stratotech
Numerous Half-way meets (Red Deer)
Night of Stalking
BBQ’s
Mid Summer’s Dream (An invite and BBQ to some of the Edmonton Car clubs)
That ok? We’ll post the tentative dates when we know more.
This should tie us over for the next little while.
The only other comment I had was I think there is only going to be one Edmonton SCC this year (Sept.). Unless you were counting a JB’s event (anyone know when/if they are happening?) as a second one?
Another thing would be where are we going to have the dyno day?I thought that apex wasn’t running their dyno any more.I remember someone talking about this on 780.
Girlfriend’s 18th B-day, eh? BOW CHIKA BOW BOW. No more running from the po-po, eh? j/k
The other thing we talked about is that we’re going to try and team up with a few other local car clubs to help put events on and make sure that attendance is high. Working with other clubs will help establish NECC as a bit of a force on the car club scene, and also help establish relationships that will make organizing events easier in the future.
Plus, that makes the pool of girlfriends to hit on that much higher. :finga:
If there is only 1 SCC, thats fine, we’ll jsut work around it.
Apexi shut down the dyno??? Really? Fuck. We’ll see what we can do there. If not we may have a mid way meet in RedDeer and use the Diablow Performance Dyno.
Yeah, we talked about that last night - how cool it would be to have folks coming from Edmonton and Calgary to hang out.
If we wanted to get something going in Edmonton, I know PE Tuning has a dyno. I’ve heard negative rumblings about them, but Neil at Speed Works said he knew them and that they were all decent guys.
The only thing is, it isn’t a roller dyno, it’s one that attaches to the hubs of the car, so the preparation stage’d take a little longer since you’d have to take the wheels off and so on.
Yeah, they seem to be good guys, but I’m not a fan of having the dyno day on the type of dyno they have. Would take for ever to prep the cars and what not. Although straping the cars down isn’t exactly seconds either. We’ll figure it out.
I don’t think Apex shut down did they? I know that a couple of the guys are doing other work during the winter to keep the place alive, but I’m pretty sure it’s still open.
Edit: They just installed some parts on someone’s car this past week…if that means anything? Maybe give 'em a call to see about booking a dyno day?
No they didn’t shut down.I guess they lost two guys and are running seriously cut back hours.Here is the linkhttp://forums.780tuners.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23609&perpage=15&highlight=apex&pagenumber=1 Hopefully they still run the dyno or else we might be screwed.PE also lost one of their guys so we will have to see if they stay afloat
