I’m gonna be hooking up a 12 volt adapter to my atv battery. The main purpose is to be able to pack a portable air compressor for if we get a flat, so we can patch it on the spot. First and foremost I’d like to figure out if running one off my battery with the wheeler running would be sufficient juice and not fry my battery. Second question is what compressor to use. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta…emnumber=96068
Those are roughly my two ideas. The box style vs the lil compressor looking style. I just don’t understand how the box ones can put out 300psi and the other one only 100? But it seems from what I’ve read, the 100 psi one would pump up the tire faster?
The fix a flat is only used to air up the tire, the plug seals it- ATV tires run at 8-12psi i’ve used a can for 3-4 tires and never had a problem. Much more compact to carry a can/plugs (or even2) of fix a flat than a compressor
I have one similar to the first one, it does inflate a car tire pretty fast and its been flying around in my trunk for about 5 years. Never used anything else though. I’d think you’d want more volume over pressure for an atv tire.
