So i’m having trouble diagnosing a problem im having. When cold, my truck will start , idle and drive fine. When it warms up it won’t idle. RPMs drop to 0 and it dies. If i try to restart, it will start strong, but tghen rpms go back go 0 and it dies. I don’t know a thing about these cars and everything is ridiculously expensive. I’m thinking maybe Idle air control valve? It’s $180 though… so i don’t want to make guesses.
No SES light… However im thinking i will go get it scanned anyway.
def sound slike a vac leak/ unmetered air problem. best way without a scanner is to spray carb cleaner around while it’s actually running. when the idle drops, you found your hole.
Definitely not a fuel problem right? I’m assuming a fuel problem would cause problems whether the engine was warm or cold, or in open loop or closed loop
Never know could be a fueling issue. Check the fuel pressure. A semi plugged filter causing backpressure could in theory work well after it sat and bled pressure off and then like crap after it build pressure once again.
