Try buying 1-2 a week for a couple of months. You will hate that yellow form. (the wait is on hand guns).
You might even be so inclined to get your own federal firearms license (way easier than you might think)

IMO anyone promoting secession should be charged with treason. Here’s why:
Revolution is fine. Secession undermines the constitution for everyone. You don’t get to fuck with everyone just because you don’t get your way.
well i think its worth it, especially when there are people with ill intentions wanting to buy guns to do damage somewhere
True, but, they are only talking about secession if their new law is overturned. You could argue that by overturning the law the federal government is the one declaring the Constitution void. If the law is overturned by the supreme court they better have a very convincing argument for why this is a power that should not be given to the states because it is explicitly granted to the feds.
But lets be honest here, it will never come to that. This is a way for a conservative state to push the issue of state’s rights because they don’t agree with where the country is heading, nothing more. The law may end up before the supreme court, which if upheld could be a huge precedence for state’s rights. Montana will remain a part of the US but will continue passing laws that take power away from a government their populous does not agree with.
Word. Ironically a lot of these same fucks from Texas and the like were the ones going all ape shit that it was un-American to oppose the war…
all I have to say is… good for you Monatana. It’s about freakin time someone told the Fed’s to #$%& off.
I couldn’t. Federal laws are created and approved by representatives of the states. This country’s government is (brilliantly) set up so that federal laws are agreed upon by a majority of the states and our union is successful because the minority has to put up with things they don’t like for the good of the majority.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not necessarily advocting a big federal government. I’m just saying that the idea of a weak central and strong state government, while a popular talking point these days, is flawed to the point of inevitible destruction. That’s what we had for 10 years under the Articles of Confederation and what we abandoned because the founding fathers saw that there is no union with a strong central bond.
But this debate is as old as Washington vs Jefferson. In all truth our system probably works because each side holds the other in check and we wind up with a workable balance.
True. It’s more of a philosophical discussion than a practical one. I just wish there was more of an attitude of ownership than victimization with regards to the government in this country. It’s a scary step down the cycle of democracy back towards shackles.
We should talk about this over beers on the river. I tell ya, the GOP needs more JayS’s and ZD’s and fewer Jegs. :picard:
OK back to my control system.
I don’t think you get it.
ANYONE can walk into a store and as long as they check the “NO” boxes, 15 min later they can walk out with whatever rifle, and shotgun they want.
If someone really wanted to hurt someone else, they don’t need a gun. You can’t really trace the ballistics from getting bashed in the head with a big rock
The second amendment reads
“the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
The waiting period is unconstitutional. As in the 1 year wait to get a pistol permit in NYS because they are too lazy to do the paperwork.
People mix up privileges and rights
it is a privilege to drive, but it is your right to own firearms.
:salute:
ah ok i never bought a gun before so i didn’t know…
so a person with like, mental illness can buy a gun/rifle no questions asked, y do i sound crazy for thinking that is a scary thought… like background checks are a good idea IMO
Those states with no gun laws probably have less crime too, Go figure.
Bad guys are gonna get guns regardless of the laws. But to make laws to slow the process or even eliminate it for the good people is why crime gets high. Like DC one of the highest crime rates and they have stiff gun laws…
:gotme:
I am not disagreeing with your statement…
However DC is 90% ghetto
that’s because they are rural states lol
If NY all the sudden took away gun laws, I bet gun related crime would go a bit higher.
You have to wonder if the founding fathers would even think having the current US as all one country was a good idea. You have to remember that when the Constitution was signed there were 13 states. There was of course the issue of slavery but other than that you had a population of pretty like minded people.
If time travel were only possible it would be amazing to bring those founding fathers to the present and ask them if they’re impressed by what their great union has become. It wouldn’t surprise me if they felt it had become too great and too diverse to ever be properly governed under one federal authority.

I agree with JayS and zerodaze especially, very valid points.
very true :grouphug:
Wrong
As I stated before when I mentioned the failed assault weapons ban, stopping people from buying guns only stops law abiding citizens. Criminals by nature break laws.
Switzerland is a fantastic example. Almost everyone in the county is armed, and they have an incredibly low crime rate. Why? Because people think twice when the consequence for breaking an entering is getting shot at.
Bans only make criminals out of honest people who will no longer be able to protect themselves
ah ok that makes much more sense zerodaisy.
ur avatar however is completely gay ayoooo bang bang
With air travel and electronic information exchange, I don’t see how the country is more diverse now than it was then.
Though it would be fascinating to know if any of them had envisioned anything as grand as what their ideas became.
There is no doubt that it is a double edged sword, but as a nation we can not let the constitution be treated as it has been for the last 20 years.
and there is nothing wrong with Cowboy Curtis
