i have an 08 impreza outback sport… my interior is essentially the sti’s… and for the record, i love it. i wish i had an extra 20k liquid right now :sad:

and an extra 100% for insurance. The Sti insurance was double my wrx.

Why is the Sti 200lbs more than the 08 wrx?
the 6spd tranny weights that much more?

I was fortunate enough to drive the 08 WRX last summer. Car was a blast to run, but its just too big being wagon style based.

Recently went to Tsukuba for the Rev Speed time attack and there were several EVO’s pounding around.

BTW, MT comparos are useless. Put the same tires on both cars at least and we’ll see how the matchup goes. In other words, wait for GRM to publish theirs.

my thoughts exactly. I’m not feeling the new body style of the EVO or STI… guess it doesn’t matter since they’re both out of my price range.

tranny, brakes, wheels, “wing”. easy to find 200 beans.

i was thinking the same thing… how stupid to leave the stock wheels and tires on for a comparison.

dunno, the evo doesn’t look like a total loser, it says it was quicker on the track. however very suspect based on the rubber…

I don’t really know anything about SP sport 600’s but I have never really seen an impressive dunlop autocross street tire… that could make a huge difference in those results lol

I can’t find info or images on the STi’s tires anywhere.

can’t find either - i think they were prob designed for the cars or something so they aren’t released yet

In a mag I have the EVO IX GSR tromps the EVO X GSR also.

and evo i think might be starting to grow on me, but i see no chance of the new sti growing on me at all…

I don’t get how they unanimously picked the evo. The STI was faster 0-60, quarter mile, shorter stopping, more power, lighter weight, more cargo room…
They never actually said what the STI’s lap time was (or I missed it in the article). They must have left the DCCD in auto, since that’s the best way to get it to understeer.
