Motorcycle rental/insurance question...

I’ll be in Miami in march for a week, and plan on renting a bike for a day or two…and am trying to figure it out if it’s worth spending the extra money on all the insurance coverage options they give you.

I have a bike, and insurance in my name already here…and heard a friend say he thinks that if i already have coverage here for it, my coverage would carry over in Florida. Basically, the insurance i pay for covers me and any bike i’m on…not just specifically the one i own here. Is this true? Am i already covered…or am i not?

And, if i’m not…for those that have rented bikes before while on vacation, is this something i should really be worried about?

I’ll be going through this company:

i didnt even know you can rent bikes, thats fucking sweet, is it only cruisers?

edit: http://www.sportbikerental.com/motorcycle_rentals.php

3000 cash deposit req, 225 a day

That site has cruisers, scooters, and the closest thing to a crotch rocket is that BMW 1300.

I also came across this site while doing my homework, and they have more variety of bikes including more sport bikes. I was considering renting their NSX for a day too while down there…or if i can get 3 friends to go in with me, the 360 Modena.

edit:

i didn’t see any deposit requirements on the first site i posted…i’m hoping they don’t want a few grand down lol.

it was 3 grand down for that ducati 1098

they have r6s and gsxrs too but they want serious cash

Call you insurance company up and ask them.

I rented a HArley in AZ a few years ago. Had to put $2000.00 down. You better double check.
