I love the wheels!
I’m interested to see a vid with those wheels. I like the idea.
Would you run dust shields to keep the rims clean(er) and possibly more visible from tire smoke through the rim?
Nice! Need some night time shots + heaters!
Nope, wheels don’t stay on the car long enough anyway. Only an hour or so at a time. Plus, I don’t really care, this stuff is so bright they won’t have a problem, and I wouldn’t run dust shields on a track car anyway.
Josh, I’ll have some night shots up this weekend.
looks great buddy! i think you should but a red top on the car… hint, hint!
I thought you change the steering wheel?
siick, love the wheels mike. whats the sizing on those rotas? and were they powdercoated or sprayed?
Thanks They are 18x9.5 ET20 if I remember correctly. They were sprayed. We’re doing my Ray’s LMGT4’s next… which I’m mildly nervous about hahaha.
I think I might get a set of wide Rota Grid’s for my slicks and do the same treatment to them as well.
I’m capturing some video and doing a write up, but one preview photo for now.
looks mean
Tears have been shed…
Hahaha, if Josh’s post doesn’t explain enough…
Uhhh ooops? A 240sx and I allegedly made contact Saturday night…
I have a short list of things to fix before driving it again, once there is some more media online I’ll make a post about the weekend.
For now, here’s me taking an e60 M5 out for a couple rips at the end of the night at Englishtown on Saturday. The car is so capable stock it’s hilarious.
video in below post.
Some more stuff from this weekend:

I didn’t get to touch the car except for maybe 8 hours between this event and last, so unfortunately I didn’t get to fix much. Don’t have power steering back in it yet, or the steering properly adjusted so it locks into place at full lock. It’s a bit of a challenge to drive right now… going to fix that up this week. We got the misfire issue taken care of, and huge thanks to Pat and Sean for helping me bleed the cooling system again at Englishtown Saturday morning. The car still runs hot, but not nearly AS hot as before. Still have a few small things to sort out (going to put a restrictor plate in the Tstat housing). Also, need to resize the master cylinder for the ebrake, it doesn’t lock if the car is moving right now. Holds the car FINE as a staging brake, but needs adjustment.
Here’s 2 corners of video from Saturday night.
Towards the end of the night, I made front end contact with Mark M in his 240sx when he lost a tire, I ended up lightly rear ending him. Did some damage to the front bumper, and bent two brackets which will take about 20 minutes to fix. No big deal, that’s drifting
(Sorry for the awful photo, cell phone, middle of the night).
I also took my friend’s e60 M5 out for a couple runs.
That could have been much worse. Still kinda sucks. Looks great out there though
Like you said, the bumpers are cheap. Thank god it wasn’t the headlights, or worse!
Actually one of the headlights is marred up, but with some rubbing compound it should buff out. The brackets that I made to hold both of them in bent, rather than the headlights breaking so that worked out perfectly
well, that didn’t take long…shit happens
car looks great, that M5 slides nicely. Maybe you should have gutted and drifted that!
We were joking about how salvage ones are in the high teens, low 20’s after I did those runs.
Then you look at max engine replacement cost: Vk56 - $1000
S85B50 - $15000
lol.
ouch, that’s one hell of an expensive motor lol
Ok, so some more photos from Wrecked Mag, with a bit of narration for some of them…
So I’m pretty sure this is where the steering had locked, full lock to the right and I just got on the brakes and straightened it out and went offroad for a bit… that happened more than a few times that day.
Not fucking up the same turn. I was running 18 month old Nexen’s I had left outside. Did the entire day on them, never had to swap. Worked out well for a “practice” tire. Maybe I should start selling them for a premium like good scotch!
Something random from the infield, i think this is braking for the right hander which leads into the hairpin before the bank.
Hitting the bank.
Followed by hitting Mark Manansala. He had lost a tire, causing him to slow in the line around a blind uphill corner. I came up full drift behind him and didn’t really have anywhere to go and rear ended him. Both cars (and drivers!) were fine.
Mark’s wheel, sans tire.
Wagner and Waldin doing some tandem work.
Afterburners engage!
Ed’s LS7/4spd dogbox’d Z.
Damien’s S15 KA-T
Jay and I had done some pretty fun tandem’s throughout the day. Both learning a good bit. However at one point towards the end of the night he spun in front of me. I had two cars behind me and had to make a decision while sitting on lock off throttle entering a turn, do I power into it and go around him, or tap the brakes let it straighten and go behind him? I went against my first thought due to the cars behind and went BEHIND him. Missed the jersey barriers on my left by about 2" and his car by about 5". Honestly surprised there were no marks on my doors.
Nick’s Silvia. His second event out in A group and he’s absolutely killing it.
