MufflerMan opinions

Well I just had some engine mods done to my yellow primer Grand AM (ported and polished performance head 086, p&p HO intake manifold, UDP, timing chain, soon to be a CAI after I get the fender liners in the mail, and a header.

I know, I know, my car is not fast and my car looks like it is smiling. Please refrain from the rice comments because I am not trying to make rice.

Since the install of the header, I don’t have an exhaust (very loud).

Would you say the muffler man would do a good custom job for a Y dual exhaust if I give them my 2 borla mufflers, tips, and high flow cat?

Also, I was thinking it would cost me around 300 - 400 dollars - does that seem right?

They have done some pretty good jobs in the past, very friendly and helpful staff…

If you dont need any parts from them I would say thats a good ball park.

Come over next time im at the house getting my autos, all my cars have muffler man exhaust, challenger, and the nova, Im right across the street from you.

I always see these sweet cars at the house - does the G8 have it too???

Don’t you have the TA also?

I will make sure I stop by, it is hard to know when you are not there  .

I gave the TA to my friend, yes muffler man did the exhaust on it and my g8 also. Only car i have with no exhaust is my cadillac. Actualy my g8 now has a bought exhaust on it because the one they made was 2 loud, but i can show u it they did an awsome job, I can bolt the made exhaust on it in 2 min.
Anyway i wanted to say i love that grand am! What color are you going to paint it?

Damn, you must own a private dealership - I want to paint the car with either the ford or GM chameleon color that turns purple, aqua, blue, gold, etc depending how it is looked at or in the light

Thanks for the compliment - I appreciate it

Here is the video:
For some reason my camera doesn’t hear loud noise very well…

I’ll try to get a better one.

From experience i wouldent go to loud, but dam that cars so awsome.

Those are some nice engine parts.

What are you looking to get out of that car?

I think that price is in the ball part from the last time I had an exhaust done.

I actually can’t believe you guys live close to eachother.

I am def not going loud - hence the borla mufflers and high flow cat - I don’t want a raspy sound at all. I just want a nice growl when idle and when I hit high rpms, I don’t want it to sound like a weed whacker. I am sure Mufflerman can make sure that doesn’t happen.

I am not looking to get much, just wanted some extra hp for cruising reasons - I know my place when it comes to driving in NY.

You might also want to consider adding in a resonator (cherry bomb type) right after the cat in the single pipe section. This will ensure that it is not very loud, but still raspy sounding.

:gotme:

All the exhaust work i had done in the last couple of years, and yes that not even half of it.

Wow - thanks for the pictures - they work great and hang perfectly!!

Coldaccord - You think a stock GM/Ford color could be rice?

YES

Definetly get a resonator installed while you are doing it all! With a high flow cat you 4cyl will osund like shit no matter what mufflers you put on there. With a $40 resonator it will sound deep and sound good
