A Munhall man involved in a motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon died early Thursday.

Jared Barlow, 21, was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. at UPMC Presbyterian. An autopsy showed he died of head injuries, although the Allegheny County coroner’s office said he was wearing a helmet.

Barlow lost control of his motorcycle at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday in the 4700 block of Bayard Street in Shadyside between Neville Street and Devonshire Road.

Police suspect that Barlow was speeding and performed a wheelie before the crash. Barlow was thrown off the motorcycle and was found under a parked vehicle.

Wow that sucks, and he was wearing a helmet…I’ll keep his family in my prayers…tragic…

that sucks.

bikes and pittsburgh streets do not mix well.

Up here in MP a kid that bought one of my old cars died on his bike last wednesday and on Saturday a very close friend of me and pewter had some drunk hit him head on. Our buddy did a flip in the air and landed on his back. He was ok for a few bruises and some scrapes but just to say he servive that crashe is unbeileveable. If he woulkdnt have called me to go get his bike I would have never believed him if I didnt see the aftermath of the accident. After the car hit him it came to a stop after hitting a guard rail. I beleive the cop said that they think the guy was going about 50 when he hit him. Cutty I do remember ur buddy and I remember his car. Actually I remember that car way before I met u guys because I saw it one night down at the waterfront. Them IROC wheels stuck out like a sore thumb.

Ok we ahve been talking about this on the bike forum. Evidently this kid / guy was doing a wheelie when this all happend. His friend (who also went down) and a couple construction workers had to lift the car off of him under which he slid.

To keep this very short and simple…

It sucks he was so young, Condolences to his family and friends, and he ended up paying a high price for a poor decision especially around oakland in the afternoon where there is nothing but traffic especially now that PITT is back in session (when my shift ends at 3pm its the worst).

I’m not making any of this stuff up and I’m not trying to hate on him. Facts are facts, this sucks big time and yet it could have been avoided.
