Music From Ipod Transfered to Computer.

Well pretty much my computer got messed up and i had to restore it to the day i bought it…long story short, i need to get the music i downloaded from my Ipod, back on to my computer. But since i didnt buy them off iTunes i cant just transfer my purchase’s. I googled this but i wasnt sure if there was anyone else that has done this, and knows a good program. Thanks.

Last time I did this I googled it and used the program in the top 5 links…don’t remember what it was. Worked though.

i think you can do it with winamp actually. not sure tho.

copypod

The first search results are like $20-$30 Programs. I found that you can do it another way, which is open iTunes in safe mode( Hold Ctrl+Shift while pluging in ipod) then you open up “My Computer” find your Ipod, Then Tools, Folder Options, Show Hidden Files, and you find them, but they are renamed to Random Letters and Numbers.

Then you copy them over, i read you can open them in windows media player and it renames them, but then i think i have to export them again, so i would have 2 copies of all my songs. I havent finished yet because i went to sleep, and now im at work.

dude make a new folder, and this is going to be where all the music from your ipod will go. plug in your ipod, go into my computer and open up the ipod. somewhere in the menus there will be an option to show hidden folders. this will allow you to see the music thats on your ipod. their will be a bunch of folders with your music open them and drag them to your new created folder for your music. open itunes and add folder to library, done deal

I pretty much just said that. I have a Ipod Nano, the one with the screen thats like a square, not the newest nano. Maybe its a little different then yours, but it changes all the songs names until you hoover over it with your mouse.

Weird thing i did try to add the folder, and tried adding the location, for some reason it wouldnt let me. So ill try adding it to Window Media Player then exporting it all hopefully it will rename all the music for me. then i’ll just drag it into Itunes.

Download sharepod. http://www.getsharepod.com/ I’ve used this several times. You have to have .net framework installed for it to work. http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

i would be able to do it for you. its hard to explain but im sure it works with every ipod. the song names are usually all f-ed up, but when itunes sees them they go back to what they used to be in itunes

ya i know, i downloaded Sharepod!!! WORKS GREAT!!!

and it let me import them into itunes, for some reason the other ways didnt work, and i couldnt find the WinAmp Plugin, the link doesnt go to the plugin anymore.

so Sharepod, great product!
