BED deff does not want Islam in America. The same tin foil hat guy so worried about Uncle Sam invading his freedoms simply does not want Islam practicing Americans to have the same rights. Fucked up man.
With rights come responsibilty but I really don’t want to have to explain this all to you like a broken record.
Whatever makes you feel better man.
“With great power, comes great responsibility”

You know damn well this could create big problems but instead of admiting that it makes you feel better to put words in my mouth and be smug?
On a serious note though. If a BBQ pork restaurant was proposed to be right next door to this community center, I’m sure there would be Muslims against it as well. So those against this idea shouldn’t feel bad about themselves :xz: It all equals out into a greater harmony
Freedom when it’s convenient. Got it.

Whaddya got?
I dont like it. I’m not against muslims (just the radicals, or anybody who would senselessly take a human life ). But i think it is incredibly disrespectful to open a mosque right next to ground zero, and open it on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
i dont care what race someone is, or what religion they belong to, but i do see this as being a big issue. in any other location there wouldnt be a problem, but that its so close to ground zero is going to cause alot of problems. and the fact that it will be opening on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 will be seen as a huge slap in the face by the majority of americans, atleast those that are “proud americans”. this would most likely be the middle age and senior aged generation, as the young generation these days just dont give a fuck. i think the people that plan to build this should reconsider the location as most likely some radicals will probably destroy it.
completely agree. Its like building a neo-nazi center right next to a jewish temple. You just don’t do it.
So what if they wanted to put a church next to/on an indian reservation?
There is a church on the reservation near me.
On a side note, I know what your getting at and I agree

I think we should build a Made In America store on there turff…
While this is completely legal under the first amendment it’s a terrible location for a mosque. I’m not sure if you can legally petition or protest against the building of a mosque, but this is ridiculous. It’s a tough call to make.
was it a terrible location when it existed there before 9/11? should they have to move because of 9/11 or are you just opposed to a remodel?
Honestly, of all the other days they could open it, they HAD to choose the exact day on the 10th anniversary.
This is right off the Cordoba Initiative’s website:
Following the example set by their American brothers, governments in Muslim countries need to realize that they too can benefit from the institutional expressions of democratic capitalism that have been behind America’s successes: an independent judiciary, human rights adherence, free market trading systems and more. Religious discrimination should be prohibited, and each religion should be free from state intrusion—ensuring the continuance of the Abrahamic Ethic in Muslim governance.
Pretty soon we’re all going to be speaking Muslim! /redneck
^Yeah kind of like the guy from OP that started a show to teach how peaceful muslims are then he cut his wife’s head off.
Fuck, let’s build a Chinese restaurant next to it.
