nice car, and nice work. I did a 66 coupe a few years ago. I have a basement FULL of misc parts if you’re in need of anything small like. Nice work.

Cool, I’ll let you know if I do.

Joe, I’ve got the pics if you didn’t get them.

Cowl came in yesterday.

What a great piece, really quality. The finish is dipped, Slots into place nicely. Have to get the grinder back out and get the edges ready for welding!

Here’s the old one, you can see the 463939628 welds that held it in place.

New panel test fitted, looks like this should work out great.

I have more coming Saturday.

wow exellent tom  i love these threads

Tom, the car is coming along great! Glad to see you’re taking the time to go about this project the right way. Once things slow down for me I’ll head on down to check it out:)

You’re always welcome, buddy.

Ken, maybe this year I can swap a ride with ya

Apparently my stainless fender bolts and right-hand side mirror just showed up.

Nice project! I’ve always wanted an ol’ stang, and I’m not even a ford fan. I love the old cars though, +1 for keepin’ it alive and doing it right

i like those re poped parts… looks like a nice.

So you forget to post them on my site too?

Done and done :stuck_out_tongue:

They do call me the godfather… :snky:

Tonight was POR-15 night, part 1.

The metal lower is already galvanized and dipped, so this will be adding an extra layer of protection for the vunlerable hats.

Here’s all the gear assembled. Gloves are a MUST, as some of you know if this shit gets on your hands, you are FUBAR.

The can tells you that if it dries there, “ONLY TIME WILL TAKE IT OFF.” Good stuff, then.

L-R, cowl, container and coffee scoop, 3" chip brushes, rubber gloves, POR-15, POR-15 “POR Patch” sealer, Metal Ready, Marine Clean.

Begin by scuffing the area to be coated with a wire brush. I took a grinder to the edges for later welding at this point, too. Bust out the Marine Clean, mix 1:1 with hot water, saturate, and rub.

Then you have to rinse. But it’s cold outside. Ah well

This really is a rite of passage with Mustangs, so they say. Anyway, dry, and spray Metal Ready on, let sit for @ 30 mins. The Metal Ready coats with zinc phosphate, good for welding conductivity, too.

Stir up your POR, glop it into the container with the coffee scoop, and paint away.

Also, here’s what I picked up at the show with the Godfather, I mean camarojoe: :stuck_out_tongue:

Plaid baby, yeah

Had to blow the dust off this one and even bump it up from the 2nd page.
So you working on it anymore?

Ah, ya bastard

Yeah, it’s all been work that’s not really worth showing though. Cowl’s basically done, I’m drilling hole to drop the front end (A-arm relocating) about 1-1/2" and still pricing discs for the rear.

Seriously Tom…wtf?

Well, cowl’s done. Welded in the fender extentions last night, POR’d the whole shebang and seamsealed it with 3M caulk and brush-on sealer. What a dirty whore that was  She’s off the blocks and rolling again.

When I got under the dash to bolt the center support up to the new metal, it was 100% dead on. Nothing like fixing it better than the factory made it.

Had to do some banging away when I first mounted the panel to clear the clutch cable - the PO had cut the lower cowl panel, where the rain water runs - to clear it. :bloated: Mine doesn’t effect water runoff at all, put a few test gallons through it.

LED sequential taillights, reverse and front markers came in this morning.
