On your burnout, don’t rev it to the moon. Just take it to 3500-4000 and hold that rpm. Take it immediately into 3rd gear, and roll the burnount out about 15-20 feet. You want the REAR tires to burn through the water that is left from your front tires from sitting for those few seconds.
Your car is laying down up top. 124mph is typical of cars running 10.80-10.90. A 10.50 is usually good for 126-127 on an n/a car. I’d bet your car was on it’s way to a bottom 10, but 3rd gear it ran out of mojo. What was the mph in the 1/8th? ET to the 1/8th? I’m going to guess here and say you were around a 6.55-6.60 at 104-105.
id call your first day out a success. car looked real good taking off but I know the tire shake does kill time. I got bad wheel hop a few times already it ruins your ET. did you make any changes to the car when you were there?
Your car is faster on the footbrake! Some cars are like that. The slips are all over the place down low. Look at the 330’ numbers. That will be 1st and 2nd gear for your car. The first slip you cut a 1.48 60-foot which is not bad at all, and then a 4.19 330’ which is flying! That same slip you go 6.63 at 98.59. You’d be well into 3rd gear probably for 2.5 seconds when you cross the 1/8th stripe. I’m comparing your slips to a bunch of mine, and you are right there on the low end to 330’ but then your car falls way off. You should be well over 100mph at the 1/8th based on how it gets out of the hole. My car will run to 330’ at a best of 4.17, but usually 4.20-4.25, but then it’s going 106-108mph to the 1/8th. Your car is right there matching my numbers through 1st and 2nd gear, and on the dyno it’s making a shit-ton of power. No reason it shouldn’t be matching it all the way down the track. Somewhere from the dyno to the install into your car something changed.
The 2nd slip you go faster to the 60-foot by a few hundredths (1.48 to 1.455), but then to 330’ you are behind by over a tenth (4.19 to 4.31). That’s strange. That’s a 2 car length swing. Were you shifting at the same rpm every time?
Ask the guys who dynoed your engine what fuel system they used for the pulls.
EDIT: I never did give you props! First time out and you’re faster than 98% of this board lol. You’ll be running 9’s n/a with this thing with a few tweaks.
Can you see all three slips? I think I was a little quicker foot braking than tranny brake because instead of launching right from 4,000rpm I left the line from idle so it took a hair longer to break them loose. lol I tried loading it up and jumped the line…oops. Yeah hauling ass like that with tire shake was quite amusing even though I had a headache into the following day. lol But I know she has a lot more…I just need to get her to hook…next time I’ll put my GoPro on my gauges so I can watch RPM’s and AFR better.
It hooked up better but still spinning. I think once I get it to run better, I’ll get more lift and better traction. And hopefully she’ll keep trucking all the way down. Getting closer though.
youll be 9’s on motor before ya know it. my car is lean up top still too. i was leaner up top than yours. i think we both need to send our carbs back to PS. nice 60 foot time!!
604whp on a mustang dyno. Which he said add 10% and that’s every other dyno…664hp…then 20% drivetrain loss…797 crank hp…which equals what I got on the motor dyno. The only numbers that really matter will come this weekend…
