Hey guys,
Some of you know me, some of you don’t – in any case, I thought you guys might get a kick out of this.
Some car history:
First car was a '98 Legacy GT – written off when some biatch in a Cadillac SRX hit me.
Then, I (briefly) owned a 180sx (for 3 weeks) which was then sold to Mark (white240).
Next up was a '97 240sx. I owned this car for just over 2 years. I bought it stock, and spent quite a bit of time and money working it’s way into a track/drift car.
The stock exhaust rusted out so I replaced it with an HKS Hi-Power. Then I tinted the windows and bought new speakers, a deck, a tiny subwoofer – I like my music.
The stock subframe bushings were worn to shit, so I replaced them (with the awesome help of Mark, white240) with Bings solid aluminum subframe bushings.
After that I did a few other small things, a B & M short shifter, JDM kouki wing, battles and federal tires, shitty HIDs, some rays lugnuts, etc, with the help of another Mark (MarkD1).
The car was almost ready to hit the track – all it needed were some HSD coilovers which I bought from white240. Put those on and drove for a month or 2.
Last but not least was full Bings multi-link, and some new tein inner/outer tie rods. I had all of this stuff sitting in my bedroom, scheduled to be installed at SG Motorsport on a Wednesday in late July last year. Saturday was supposed to be my first track date, at Mosport DDT.
I got home at about 3:30 am on Monday night – when I woke up Tuesday morning the car was gone, right off my driveway. That’s why I posted this thread: http://www.son240sx.org/showthread.php?162494-MY-CAR-GOT-STOLEN-PLEASE-HELP!!!
A couple pics, a few weeks before it was stolen:
A big thanks to Bing and Sasha for allowing me to return my newly purchased parts.
- no updates on that btw, car is still gone

Didn’t have theft coverage (insurance was $700 a month at the time, and $400 more for theft)…had a really bad record. They’d also only have given me $1,500 or some shit because to them it’s a “1997 Nissan”.
Bottom line, I got $0 for my loss.
I had no choice but to buy a car RIGHT away, so I could get to work (I have 2 jobs).
My friend works at a Nissan dealership and they’re always getting beaters in, so he hooked me up with a black, 2000 Toyota Corolla 4-door, automatic. The car had 240,000 km on it, check engine light on, etc. Completely stock, obviously.
Bought the car for about $1k.
Planned to have it for only a month or 2, but realized it was cost effective to keep it until it died.
Fast forward almost a year.
I decided it was time to hit the track for my first time, and wanted to break in my virginity at Mosport DDT, as it’s a fun little course that doesn’t really rely on high horsepower to have fun.
With 125hp/125tq (that’s brand new), and 14x175 all-season tires, I let loose.
The track day was awesome. I probably did 60-70 laps when all was said and done, and I thrashed the shit out of it.
I was driving the worst car there (by far), but after letting cars pass me in the straights (they’d be ahead by 15 car lengths), I’d be right on them by the time we were halfway through the turns. I was driving super aggressively, with nothing to really lose ($1k car that lasted a year already owed me nothing).
To make a long story short (not that this is a short forum post lol), on my way home the car died, I had CAA tow it to my driveway, and essentially the engine is blow.
It had a good life – a great life. All my friends (and even people at canoe rental shops, gas stations, passerby’s, etc.) signed my car. It was like a cast, but better. It made having a piece of shit automatic Corolla a blast.
I have to say, I think I’m more sad about my Corolla dying then my 240 being stolen.
So on to the best part, the pics.

Finally, stuck on the side of the 401:
My next adventure in cars looks like it’ll be taking place in a 1998 BMW 328i sedan, black on black, manual, 128,000km. I’d love to get another s-chassis but they’re hard to find in good condition, and I need a car I can drive year round for now, and park on my driveway (without getting stolen). I’ll either start building this next summer when I have my own place, or consider keeping it as a daily and grabbing an S-chassis or perhaps an R32 GTS-T.
In the meantime I’ll have to stay busy with GT5, sitting shotgun in MarkD1’s s13 (will be there at Shannonville with him this Sunday), and the go karting league I joined at Goodwood this year.
