YES!
So i finally got a hold of FI again to see where my turbo is. After about 15 calls and 4 voice mails with no answer I called from a different number…and they answered. Anyhow it is supposed to get here Thursday. I just want my turbo
Drew - make sure you put some clamps to hold that to the fire wall before. If you burn those wires I’m not doing this for a third time…
We may want to do it now anyways to keep it out of the way so you don’t bash it.
I am not working on this thing today as I am lacking parts. You still coming tomorrow? Lets do some heaters
Looks great.
Prank Dial or Caller ID Faker on the iPhone is one of the best solutions to fuck ass vendors who suck at customer service. Fuck, I hate that.
If you want to hammer on this thing then let’s do this! I’ll call you when I’m out of work.
Thanks!
Yeah man. They are really nice when I speak to them but I have been straight up lied to on a few occasions and then ignored. Multiple people are having issues with them on LS1tech. I am sure they are just busy. But they should still operate professionally.
Yeah I am down. Even got in a few hrs of work tonight. PCV setup hopefully done tmmrw.
My hands hurt from making AN fittings…so here are some pics. If you guys didn’t know non of my fuel or any of the stainless is from a kit. I assemble all of my lines using products I get from Innovative and Ferry Hydraulic.
Dan Lesser Owner of Viper Specialty Performance helped my out by welding some Alum for me. Thanks Dan!
Painted! I made sure I had paint almost identical to my powdercoat before I had anything powdered for this reason.
Ok lets make a PCV system, tank assembled and mounted
Oh my what do we have here? Just got my turbo back. I had a different wheel, race cover and rebuild done. I am so happy to FINALLY have it back…although they forgot to include the new elbow and oil feed flange.
FUCK THOSE POROUS, POWDERCOAT COVERED DIRTY ALUMINUM NO ROOM FOR THE TIG TORCH AROUND ONE SIDE OF THE FITTING VALVE COVERS.
RIGHT IN THE ASS.
ALL DAY LONG.
AND AT NIGHT TOO.
doood…you scratched the 90* an fitting…haha looks awesome.
just out of curiousity, why are you running a catch can for the evac? why not just run it to the exhaust with a check? it worked really well on my s10.
LOL
I get mad when they scratch!!!
I was actually going to run it with a check valve style and actually have a setup here if you know anyone that wants it. It generally works for most that are running it but I went the route I did after talking to Speed Inc as they have had a few issues with placement and angle on high HP cars.
Also with my setup if I were to have any issues with is venting I could go one step further and cap the top and make two nipples with check valves one going to manifold and one to pre turbo this is actually “best” as it would recirc and have actual pull from the crank case during vacuum and boost. Overkill but I wanted the future option
gotcha, makes sense. anticipated completion on this project? maybe end of summer?
after i locate a motor/trans later this year im gonna have alot of questions for you ls1 guys…i really want to do boost after seeing all these builds haha
I am really trying to make a push to get this thing running within the next month or so. But who knows.
we had this discussion like a billion trillion times. exhaust evacs only work on low hp cars. if at all on anything with full exhaust. open header then yes, all day. no back pressure.
There are a few 1k+hp cars running them over on LS1tech with no issues. But no need to debate that here since I am not even running an evac setup. As shown above lol
From cutting the lines? When I was making fuel lines I did it using the hacksaw/tape method (looks like you did as well in one of the pics), and ended up getting amazingly frustrated from poking holes in my fingertips with sharp pieces of the stainless braid.
Then I noticed tin snips looked similar to the tool they sell, and I had a pair like the ones below-
IIRC I didn’t even use tape on the end, and there was never an issue of dust/debris getting into the hose from the hacksaw. Plus no more bleeding fingers… I did this for trans cooler lines and power steering lines and haven’t had any issues.
Amazing build by the way. Suspension stuff looks amazing.
Thanks!
I actually love my cutting setup. My hands hurt from manhandling the fittings on and trying to get the threads started. This happened this time for two reasons. On a -4AN line I tried forcing the fitting on a cut that I did mess up. Waste of time and energy. Started over and had the line made in 10min.
Then last night I was trying to put a -10 aeroquip fitting on some mr.gasket line I had. Didn’t think it would matter. Well after a solid 30min of trying to manhandle the fitting in far enough for me to get the threads started I gave up and decided to try the other line I had today. The other line I and was aeroquip and although I didnt think it would matter it did in this case. Fitting went on the aeroquip line easy as could be. For the record I have used the mr. gasket fittings on their line with great success.
My hands are killing me.

Also I always wear leather gloves while making lines so I dont get stabbed!
cutting is the easy part!!!
