I snagged an nrg 2.5 quick release. Fuck horn buttons.
Trust me it was a hard decision figuring out how I was going to make the car and I pretty much just went with what I could turn into a full race car eventually. I really want like an sl500 or something too as a nice summer car but that isn’t going to happen. I will still probably end up with most of the interior installed.
There really isn’t anything all that complicated about building cars though when you are doing something like this. It is all parts that are direct fit so everything is just cut and paste.
Side story:
I had to remove my momo hub to install the steering column trim. Well I must have nicked the highside horn wire just a little bit when doing so. I put it all back together and tested the horn.
Apparently the nick didn’t allow enough current to close the relay, but it allowed enough current to keep the relay closed, because when i pressed the button, the horn stuck ON. It’s surprising how fucking loud the horn is in an enclosed garage.
At first I ripped the button out of the wheel and unplugged it. No dice. The horn is fucking raging. I had to struggle out of the cage and run to the battery and rip off the neg terminal… that was a mightly lol.
Yeah me too haha. I really regret not taking more pics along the way of all of the small projects. I broke my camera so it only gets pics taken when IanK comes to help me work on the car. I really wish I had a full before, during and after of the paint, interior, and suspension. Oh well I will know for my next build.
