Joe as of now I am deff going wed. I will run even if I am still having issues since well i was going 11.0 on 375 it will still be a blast on almost 400 even if im still having ignition issues. Today I replaced the battery, alternator, and added a dedicated 2ga wire from the alt to battery. I will not know if this really fixed anything till I hook up with Chuck for some more logging. But as I said I will race it either way. I am very confident i will be able to meet my goals(10.99 cam-only) even with the voltage issues lol. Basically I just want to race it even if its 90%

Car quest. Its a Deka Battery, alot of evo guys use them. I had one and used it year around no problem, they will require a core exachange, but you can give them any pos battery you have, think it was $80.

Was the voltage regulator in the alternator screwed?

Does the stock tranny not hold up to any power or was it just a freak thing? I wish I had your car motivation, IDK how you work on a car that much being a homeowner haha. If I get a few hours a week I’m doing good.

Maybe, I have not taken the alt in to be tested.

They hold up generally to a lot of abuse. The one I had was grinding into 3rd from the first drive in the car. There was awhile where I didn’t have to work on the car too much but with the seasons end coming in I didn’t want down time so I am on top of shit now! I honestly don’t have too many house projects to do.(cars are still way more fun to me and I bought a renovated house)

They hold power fine. Drew said that trans was pretty clapped out and in need of a rebuild. Studderin has probably 1000 passes on his rebuilt T-56 yanking the wheels each run and making similar power (with more weight). They’re stout, especially once they are rebuilt well.

Yeah my last fast car(01 z-28) ran low 11s na and 10s on bottle for 5 years on the stock t-56 it felt great even when I sold it. This new one I have feels great wayyy better then my other one ever did so I hope it holds up well.

So after studying most of the day I said :fu: text books and decided to go do some testing on the car. So I grabbed the multimeter and went to town. When i was having issues with ignition(still might for all I know) my idle voltage was between 12.0-12.2 and would drop to 11-11.2 under WOT.

So im alone so I could only test at idle to see if it was doing any better.

Fire up the car

Battery voltage at idle 14.4v

Checked at the main fuse block 14.3v

Final check is at the obd2 port itself 14.3v

So it is looking good so far. Might try to get back on a dyno tomorrow to see whats going on now. I might be using Mikes dyno so I don’t expect killer numbers but the point of this is to get the car tuned properly and to run right down the track. So basically so far things are looking good but far from conclusive that the issue is fixed.

Also I am using this battery while I am waiting for a replacement for mine from Modular Turbo. I am skeptical but so far it is working great. I will report more on my findings as i keep using it lol.

For lolz here is what the dyno graph looked like the other day. this was AFTER i unplugged the 2-step where I only made 374 and what I have been running on all season. I appear to have fixed my voltage issue and hopefully will get a dyno graph soon that does not look like this. Not bad numbers for a 11v and a haywire ignition haha.

Well if I have been going 11.0 on 374rwhp i hope i can go 10.9x on 399 minimally. id really like a retune before i go to the track again but im not quite sure I will be able to before wed. A lot of this will be track conditions though. We shall see.
