My Build Thread LS1/FD Its Fast!

A small one. :snky: It is a custom piece made by Jose at Forcedinduction.

More fisting pics. I love gold.

Don’t you have the fisting pic? or do i? ef I will look later. Yes your fist will fit in my turbo. lol dirty whore

Someone needs one of these

Yes I do.

looked over the last few pages, looks to be promising. This your first turbo LS1 tuning project or you been doing it for awhile? If i can get back to it, im working on a Twin 62-1 tubular header setup on a LS2. I do LS tuning for side job as noticed in sig. Good luck on the build and if have any questions feel free to ask

I am not going to be doing the tuning on this car. I have been racing 6-sp ls1 cars since 2003 but this is the first one I am actually trying to push into the 9s. But this car isn’t being built just to drag I just wanted to build something really clean and finished I guess. Stay tuned it should start shaping up quite nice.

ill say this from my experience with decent boost and a t56, youll need more power then an auto to get times they do. It sure is fun on street tho. I have the viper spec’d t56 and still broke it. Last year i ran the ram VDS setup and it only lasted roughly 6k of boosted miles behind my setup. I averaged 700 hp and was over 800 a few times. You being lighter should work out well but its still going to be a chore

This car went 10.9 already cam-only on around 400rwhp.

thats got to weigh in around what 3200 with driver? being light will deffently be to your advantage

And you still bogged out of the hole. lol

Yeah the car is light. We never even had an aggressive tune in it and i didn’t get much seat time as well you know these builds have kinks haha. The setup works well I simply just didnt have enough power to 60ft harder. I was cutting 1.5s consistently and running 10.9-11.0 at 126 cam-only. I think the car will be around 3300 with me in it next season since I am adding a bunch of weight. I am hoping an extra 300rwhp will drop a sec but going fast 6-sp is always harder said then done.

that 60 is pretty good, what was launch timing set at? 300 should help you move pretty decent. what diff you running?

amen brotha, im making 300whp more then before and can barely run .5 fastter E.T. lol

I run a cobra diff. I had 4.10s but am switching over to a 3.27 now. No idea on launch timing as I said i don’t do the tuning. I still honestly don’t know who is tuning this setup. Chuck from here did did my last one. I had a few high 1.4x 60fts but the car would hook and come out hard but bog. I have considered a slipper style clutch next season like the soft-loc to try to dial out the bog and they are easier on the drivetrain. Ever use one?

I hear ya

To be clear to the Pitt guys and anyone else really. I am just building this for the sake of building something sweet. If it goes 10.5 10.9 9.9 8.9 it’s all good. 9.99 is my only real “goal” for the track but most importantly a car I enjoy and drive the shit out of. If I was trying to build a max et car id put an auto behind it obv.

a bog sounds like tune related. depending on launch rpm/timing vs slippage/recovery timing that could easily be your bog. Not enough timing at launch or between shifts will make a setup fall on its face. never used a slipper clutch. My vds was an off and off switch it sucked for driving but worked decent a track. if i had to guess the weight of 4800lbs and brake boosting caused it to fail early. 3.27 with what size tire you planning? should be interesting on your results, im willing to bet your mph will be up there but ET will be down for the mph just cause of the t56. I love the t56 but i know its not ideal for big power

You are not teaching anyone anything by stating it will have a high mph and not et like an auto. But im not building a drag car I am just building something I feel like and that includes shifting it even if it sacrifices et. I have gone over this. I am running the same 26" tall et drag as last year. I don’t think my tune caused the bog. When you launch a car and it doesn’t spin the tires enough it will pull the rpm down and give a bog. Besides its not like we are talking anything big we are talking a 10.9 cam-only car that cut 1.5s all day. It just needed to be launched a lil harder I was just being a puss. Left on about 6k and when it hooked I could just watch the tach drop hard.

you should stay na

Is this thing gunna do wheelies next year?

No and no.
