My experience with Toronto JDM

Well since there arent many reviews on this site about Toronto JDM I thought I would do a little write up/review about my experience with them

last monday I was contacted about a local who wanted to swap a jdm gsr into his 00 civic si… after much deliberation we decided to get a full jdm gsr swap with lsd transmission from Toronto JDM, we placed an order on tue/wed and I recieved the motor on that same friday

so far everything has been excellent, quick responses, the motor was very clean and came with everything that had been discussed

after getting the motor I started taking off the jdm harness and preparing it for the civic

we brought the car in during the snow storm

motor almost ready

I installed a brand new oem Acura timing belt, water pump, and valve cover gasket kit (recommend this for anyone who buys a swap that they do not know the mileage on these parts)

I needed the power steering brackets, ac bracket, transmission tq mount, transmission top bracket, rear t bracket, and the driver side mount and bracket from the civic si b16

after swapping over all of these parts from the b16, and putting a brand new itr valve cover on (motor was very clean inside the head btw) we dropped it into the car

installed everything, password jdm kevlar intake, tri y headers, si harness, and all necessary hoses, bolts, axles etc and the motor was ready to go (except missing gasket for header 2.5")

car should be started and running in the next couple of days and at that time a leakdown test will be done

at this point in time Toronto JDM gets a  from me

will update this thread when the car is running and tests have been done

If you’re going to do a leakdown test, why would you wait til the motor is in the car?

Good to know…

why swap a gsr engine into an si? Aren’t they basically the same power?

bc i like doing a leakdown test when the motor is warm

well the motor is in and running, valvetrain etc was a little loud at first but i figure thats because it probably hasnt been ran in awhile

he is getting the car inspected and then is bringing it back to do a leakdown and compression test

so far i give toronto jdm a big

He has good rep all over. Glad to hear everything works the way it should.

Good to hear there’s still some reputable people left in the Honda world

that intake is hot. looks great
